Dex Drive Alternative?

A friend recommended I get one of the USB Memory Card readers used for the PS3 instead of a Dex Drive and corresponding adapter, which would probably save me a few dollars. Any real difference?

Nope. You still need a DexDrive to put it on the memory card for the memory card reader to read.

The Dex Drive also saves it in a format that'll be readable by EPSXE and RPGC.

It should be noted, though, that a lot of RPGM games have been converted to a PS3 format, so you wouldn't need a DexDrive for those. I'm not sure on the specific method to play these, but I'm sure Lantis or someone else can.

I don't have a PS3 anyway, so I wouldn't be able to use it.
