I was planning on requesting my Dark Dreamworld studio today, but it looks like you guys prefer to wait until a member has demonstrated their ability to stick around... which is probably a good idea.

After I mentioned this in the flash chat, someone said that I could create a topic in this forum until I can get a studio the meantime, so here it is.

As of 2/27/11 my project is currently unnamed... simply because I haven't figured out a title yet. I'm leaning towards Blind Vigilance, but I have to work out more of the story before deciding on it.

The Game Itself: Years ago, Tey was a boy who dreamed of valorous quests against dragons and demons. Now, however, he has grown into a man with a dead-end position as scout for the Empire's military. Rather than continue his path upon the road of docility that he has been bred and trained for, he takes a chance on a little spark of fortune and a dangerous lie. Joining with Felia, an enigmatic woman from the mysterious Northern country, Tey does indeed embark on a quest. It is not one like those of his childhood dreams, but as it happens, the journey of the survivor is more interesting than that of the hero. Or perhaps the two are one in the same...

Progress: Introductory scene areas created, intro scene events created. Script barely started, general storyline partially outlined.

I fiddled with the Anime Maker and decided I can probably create a few custom sprites. Considering whether to spring for a PS1 mouse for $25+, as it is obscenely difficult to move the RGB sliders in small amounts with the controller.

That's it for now. I'll keep posting progress updates here until the forum mods deign me worthy of my own studio. All comments, suggestions and criticism is welcome!

Progress Update: I scrapped the 5+ hours I spent on the intro scene because I wasn't satisfied with it, and proceeded to write a completely new, much simpler one that I love. A few tweaks needed, but for the most part I have the prologue-opening of my game completed. The KISS rule has served me well!

*frowns at thin layer of dust*

Due to some minor drama and tasks demanding attention, I kinda got pulled away the last couple of weeks. I shall endeavor to continue work on this game and check the forums more often.
