I generally do all of my handheld gaming at work, so right now I am going through Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals on the DS. It's not quite as good as the SNES original, I guess, but it is actually more enjoyable to play and a rather interesting take on the original Lufia story. It seems like an almost complete retelling of the story in the DS version, in fact. Particularly, I really like the recent and unexpected battle I had with ->
Gades, who as you know is the only Sinistral you confront or even know of for the first half of the SNES version. It was, surprisingly, very intense, not to mention challenging, having to fight this guy at such an early point in the game, and actually have to win it. You fight him up on the balcony of the largest mansion in Percylete, and this time he's no p***y that you can easily trounce like in the SNES version once you are far enough into the story to prove a match for him. He consistently is on the move to where you have to really time your attacks in order to connect with them, attacks you with sword strikes at Hiten Mitsurugi-like speed, and has no qualms about fighting dirty by flying up into the air where you can't reach him and summoning a small meteor shower that you have to keep tumble-rolling out of the way of for several seconds. It seemed as though victory was hopeless for me, but was only all the more satisfying when I finally persevered and got him. I couldn't believe that it took every available healing resource I had in order to outlast him (and I had the maximum supply of healing resources you are allowed to carry at once), but at least it shows that this time the Sinistrals really are as powerful as they claim they are, and pull no punches when fighting me. They were extremely disappointing opponents in the SNES version.

On top of it all, I actually like this new, bolder look that Tia has ->

I find it funny that you managed to play this before I did... And also, all of you guys were acting like it would be the worst game ever back when I had that topic about the game.

I hate Tia's new look, and from what I've seen of her character, I hate her personality as well. Not that I really liked Tia in the original anyway, I usually left her dead as soon as I got her.

Oh, I'm still completely uninterested in playing that game. Just because SK likes it doesn't mean it's a good game.

I only made it a few sittings into Chrono Trigger: Flames of Eternity before I decided that I should quite and start over and blind run LP it. So that'll be my next big solo LP. I did however beat Eternal Sonata. And while the gameplay is new and refreshing, and the graphics are fantastic, and the music is wonderful, the storyline is a complete and utter joke. And the COMPLETELY dropped the ball at the end of the game. I'd spoiler the ending if I even could comprehend anything that freaking happened. I would only recommend this game if you go in knowing ahead of time that the ending is going to absolutely suck.

I also beat Dead Space Tee Em 2. And I immediately started over on a harder difficulty and am in chapter 5 of 15. I'm trying to get familiar with the game to attempt to tackle what will be the greatest video game challenge since Devil May Cry 4's Hell and Hell mode (which is a mode that is the equivalent of hard mode, but you die in a single hit). In the hardest mode of Dead Space Tee Em 2, you have to deal with the hard setting again, but this time you have absolutely no checkpoints the entire game. You go back to your last save. Not only that, you can only save three times for the entire game. It's like the earlier Resident Evil games but if there were only three ink ribbons. And what's your reward for beating such a crazy mode (aside from an achievement that's only 50 points)?

This:

I've also been playing Golden Sun: Dark Dawn from time to time. I'll probably dedicate all my gaming time to it once I finish off the current playthough of Dead Space Tee Em 2. I'll need to mentally prepare before I try the hard core difficulty anyways. But yeah, if you played Golden Sun 1 and 2, you really need to play this. It's awesome.

I've been playing for some time FFXIII (On my bro's PS3. I still don't have one)

I'm at Chapter 11.

The game might be too linear, but I've still managed to enjoy it so far, specially the development and interaction of the characters.

I still contend that 13 is actually a very good game taken as a whole. Especially if you can get over the lack of a nostalgia factor.

I mean, I got the plat trophy in it twice. On two separate PS3s. Yeah.

I agree. Lack of nostalgia factor is not a problem to me, actually.
My biggest concern right now is that I'm not sure who I want to use mainly. :(

So far is Lightining, Vanille and Sazh for me.

My brother got Marvel vs Capcom 3. :D

And I suck terribly. :cry

But I'll get better. My team so far is Ammy, Arthur and Morrigan

I have sworn not to get that game until I have finished what I'm currently playing now. Simply because I'm going to neglect everything else once I get it.

Yeah, heh.
I need to remind myself to beat FF XIII at some point. XD

I got to play some MvC3 with a friend of mine, and he was MERCILESS! Which was just what I needed. At least now I know a few things that works against human opponents.

My most used team now consists of Ammy, Morrigan and X 23, but I still have a soft spot for Arthur and Trish. If I could only get the hang of Hsien Ko.. (and if she didn't have that annoying rotating head twitch... it's so disturbing!)

The "Don't Get cocky, Kid" achievement is the last one I need to have fully mastered Dead Space, so I am working on it right this moment, ... and I tell ya, it is far from easy. I haven't had to be this persistent in getting past something in a game since that time I was trying to beat "Freya" on expert mode in Guitar Hero 2, which I remember taking literally five hours straight to overcome.

.... Maybe in another four hours I'll be able to walk away from the deadly asteroid field, alive, then.

To be honest I would rather fight the Brute necromorph with my bare hands right now.

..........

(1 hour later)

I DID IT! *anime-style victory sign*

Thanks for the Xenogears tip, SK.

To update: 360 is can't read discs anymore. I'm looking into the replacement but it's gonna have to wait for a while.

However, I did beat Bioshock 2 before it died. Hurrah for that. It's a good game, but not better than the first game. But I would still tell any and everyone to play both. They are both good and offer unique play experiences.

Still doing a little MAG, but I'm focusing more on v6 development now.

Decided to start playing through my stash of Shin Megami Tensei games finally.

I'm starting with Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2, then I'll probably move to Devil Summoner, and then I found translated versions of SMT 1 and 2 for the SNES, and I'll finish with SMT 3: Nocturne for the PS2.

Got a buy 2 get one free deal, so I got the Orange Box, Tekken 6, and Left 4 Dead. I haven't a clue what L4D is about, but I've heard it's a great online title. Maybe I can find someone to hook up with and play.

Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and Enslaved are also on the play list. Add Netflix to that, and I'll be happy for quite a while, I think.

The Orange Box was the best purchase there. Play Portal and enjoy.

Recently I just finished my several month long project of re-creating the Magical Kingdom of Zeal in Minecract as well as gotten all the achievements in Dead Space Tee Em 2 (minus the Hard Core achievement... I think it'll take a lot of mental preparation before I can try that). So last night I got Marvel vs Capcom 3. So I'll be playing the hell out of that for a while... and I'm still working on beating Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. I swear, I'm never going to finish that papercraft of Link if this keeps up.

Lantis and I started Final Fantasy VI together yesterday and we made it to Kolington in about 6 hours. We also met a very interesting character on the Veldt.

After that, we popped in Turtles in Time and beat it on Hard. The most epic moment of the night:

We were on both sides of Slash and in just the right position that once we started hitting him, he wouldn't get out of the stun phase and we f*cked his ass up square. Legend.

I think I'm a little over half done with Digital Devil Saga. This game was supposed to be pretty easy compared to the other SMT games, but damn, it's still pretty hard.

Ix and I got to Zozo last night, met up with Terra, learned magic, made it to the opera house, got an ariship, and are now about to head towards Vector. I'm astonished how much I still love this game. This one sitting right here is one of my favorite parts. FF6 truly is the best FF of all time.

Also, last night I beat Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. The game was amazing. At least 99% of it anyways. The final boss and ending were really kind of crap. I didn't even know I was fighting the final boss till after he died. Also it ended with a big old "The End...?" meaning it's wide open for a sequel as it ended with a cliffhanger. Boo. But the entire rest of the game was brilliant. Some of the best puzzle solving yet. Even better than Lufia.

Other than that I've been playing some MvC3. My team consists of Dante (to everyone's surprise, I'm sure), Amaterasu, and Zero. I've already managed to beat the game without using a continue with this team, so I feel pretty cozy with them. I'm currently working on getting everyone's endings.

FF6 is going to be released on the VC in Japan... I hope it doens't take long to get here too. I haven't finished that game!

I haven't played MvC3 in a while... (my team consisted of Morrigan, Arthur and Ammy)

Anyway, I began playing Dragon Age: Origin.
I started long ago with a female human mage, but when I picked the game back up, I decided to make a male elven mage instead. I like how you can know as much or as little of the story as you want.
I also like the chemistry between Alistair and Morrigan. XD

So, I haven't been playing much of anything other than FF6 (which, might I mention that even if it does release here on VC, you won't be able to play it online with anyone... and while that's really not a big deal with a game like FF6, it's still a shame) and MvC3. But something did come out not too long ago. Beyond Good and Evil HD. It released on XBLA and PSN.

I beg.... no, I implore you to please get this game. The original Beyond Good and Evil was a fantastic game. Beautiful world, amazing music, great gameplay and the story was awesome too. This is one of the few games where I honestly can't find anything bad to say about it. Not only that, but the HD version comes with and HD texture update, touched up music, wide screen formatting, and achievements/trophies. And you know how much it costs? Ten bucks. That is a freaking steal. It was well worth the 50 when it first came out.

Another reason why I'm pushing this so hard is that Ubisoft had plans to make a sequel. There are two trailers up on youtube somewhere. But they ended up postponing indefinitely. I'm hoping that if the HD version sells well enough, it'll push them to finish it.

Please get this game.
