If I got a letter in the mail telling me that I am to meet all of the idiots I graduated with, I'd laugh my ass off while burning said letter. Seriously... you are under no obligation to go.

Pretty sure the majority of my classmates thought I'd end up dead within a couple years, so, I'll totally go to mine just to be like "HAH! Look at me now, jerks!" and then realize after all these years that none of us were really all that different from eachother.

...over here we don't have twee reunion ceremonies, as a rule. god, it's horrific to even imagine? all the sentimentality being generated over some distant, banal adolescence?

hell, i didn't even go to my high school prom. I couldn't stand the artificiality of it. plus i didn't really rate the company.



return the invitation to sender with a snide note attached, is my advice. then laugh gaily at both your hatefulness and your liberation!

Am I one of the only people here that actually enjoyed the company of a good portion of my graduating class and is relatively looking forward to our reunion?

The thing of it is, I was the target of every bully in school. I wound up isolating myself from everyone for that very reason. And for years I've been planning on returning this response with a link to a video on YouTube of me burning my school yearbook whilst humming our school's theme song.

I've mellowed out recently, though. And considering my complete lack of social life, it might be in my benefit to go. Now, will I go as Erika? I'd like to, but we'll see.

I never graduated from anywhere, so I'll never be getting one of those letters, I suppose. If I were to, though, I would probably attend for gits and shiggles.

it's been well over 400 million years since we graduated from the sea, so that's long overdue.

can't imagine the company would be much good at 'Class of the Devonian Period', though. or the conversation.

One of us will be hard up for a job, and convince whoever arranges the event (no doubt a fussy little trilobite) to let him do a stand-up bit as an opening act for the band (debuting their hit single "We've Got Legs! (Let's Get Drunk and Forget How To Use Them)"). So there we are, smelling the cheap liquor on his breath through the speakers, groaning and eye-rolling ("What was with that Late Devonian Extinction, anyway? I think it was my Uncle Jeff. One day he forgot to take his Beano."), until finally your date winds up ditching you for a microbe with a motel key ("I hear they can outlast anything") and you vomit on the barkeep after debating with him for the past half hour whether it was worth coming out of the ocean after all, because at least back then we didn't need toilets.

You wake up with a tattoo on your left cankle reading "evolution = progress?????"

It's suddenly looking a bit less likely I'll be going. Was just in therapy today, talking about how this was coming up, and I mentioned how I can't really remember who's who. She mentioned possibly looking in my yearbook to refresh my memory. I nearly broke down crying at the thought.

I was actually in the same exact situation you were in during highschool. Bullying, etc, because of weight, not dating anyone outwardly, and my "odd" video game hobby.

I would say to really think over the choice carefully.

All I can say is that A: I'm glad people from my school don't know my mailing address... but crap, they'll probably use Facebook for invites. D:
