It's been a year and a half since our last full issue and one year since I made a digest. Issues are obviously supposed to be a staple of the RPG Maker Magazine. However, the original magazine format must be radically overhauled for the next version of RPGMM because it has become too much work to create as it is. What should happen to our issues, then.

Did you like all of the content that used to be featured in the magazine? What about the digest? What should go? What should stay?

You know... at one point we had a lot of good stuff for a full issue. What with the keyboard support for RM1 and the short lived fan translation of RT4. And off the top of my head I can't think of anything I would like to take out really. The only thing I can think to add though is maybe a section dedicated to recently LP'd RPG Maker games. And if we had watched them at that time, maybe a little run-down about the video. This would get more exposure to who ever's game was played. Granted, it wouldn't be a very big section. But maybe like feature one game. Dray alone has a list that would get us through quite a number of issues. And then maybe other RPG Maker related videos as well. Like Dray's run through RT4, or maybe the few tech videos I made. Since it's a digital magazine, we should take advantage of not being limited by what can be printed on paper.

The idea of including digital media like Let's Plays in the Magazine is of course a good one but the drawback is that these things have already been released before unless they are delayed for issue release in the future. I would hope that the issues would be all new content.

I know that times have changed, especially since we haven't had a new console RPGM in a while but it seems like maybe there is a lack of time/energy on the parts of the contributors. I know that ever since I have been here no one has ever asked me to do an interview as a studio owner about either my released game or my plans for future games or even what I hope to accomplish here. I know that oftentimes people are asked to ask for a review of their game (I don't know if this always the case). I also know that most of what we have to say about our games/studios, we say in the forums. On the other hand many of the more prolific designers or those with very challenging game design don't often post in the forums so maybe they could be contacted.

So I think the Mag is just fine as it is regarding the type of content. If it lacks anything it is contributors that are proactively working in the community.

Yeah, what he said. You don't have a staff to make the magazines, anymore. It's just you as head of site and then some forum admins. I assumed the Digest issues were created due to that very reason.

Off the top of my head, I believe that the issues/digest is something that might require a callback to the way the issues are. With the digest system, I'm not able to embed content directly into the content page like I could with the issues.

I'm currently trying to think of a way to make the issue creation process more efficient, which would in turn make it easier to turn them out.
