I must admit that only Sonic games I beat were the Sonic Adventures 1 and 2 and Heroes, so I wasn't exactly excited about sonic 4. But I guess I was hoping it delivered to make me want to try the 2D games

I have to admit that he makes it look a lot less sluggish than it feels like when I'm playing. But I'm assuming that's because he's already played the hell out of it. Any real Sonic fan from back in the day wouldn't be able to put up with how slow the game feels. Besides, you shouldn't have to speedrun the game to make it look normal gameplay for Sonic 1-3.

Besides, I'm fairly sure he's one of those LPers who dosen't do live commentary, but instead records his gameplay first. And I mention this because he may have recorded himself playing that level several times to get it like that. Though I think LPs lose something if the commentary isn't live.

But are the physics made right?

Well, his 'get up to speed' feels a little slower than classic Sonic... but it's MUCH closer than Sonic 4. But at least the physics and gravity works correctly. None of that rolling to a stop mid-way down a hill. Seriously, what where they thinking?! But yeah, you can even do that thing where if you jump inside a loop just right, you'll gain speed thing.

But yeah, the game is only a trial. The first three acts. Enter starts the demo (the enter key on the number pad... not sure why it's this only, but it took me a second to figure this out). Space is jump and the arrow keys move. Give this a shot. It's quite awesome.

What about spinning off a ramp? Does he uncurl?

NOPE. Once you're in the air, you are still tucked away in your ball... and can damage enemies as well.

Why not just play it for yourself? The demo is quite short though... and you have infinite lives.
