Yeah, if I had let every game have unlimited songs, the list would have been 50% RPG and a hodgepodge for the rest. This way, there are 70 unique games and a chance to show off some music that other people haven't heard.

Damn right I am. It's precisely the song itself that enables me to lay the smack-down on Cort's three disciples in spite of their relatively high difficulty.

Why would it be hard to pick the best from FF 4? It's Boss Battle 2. I even have that on my PSP for listening, which is only true for about a dozen game songs in total.

Not much opinion so far, I haven't played a lot of these games (not a huge Mega Man fan, though I imagine True Coolness has some opinions on this one, since he loves the X series). Surprised to see Kirby Super Star come in so low, but at least it's on there.

I really like Marx's theme, but since each game can have only one, I went with my gut and Meta Knight over Marx. I think everyone should check it out, though. It's kickass:

I'm hoping to see Illusion of Gaia high up on this one; only a middlin' game really, but the final boss theme is quite epic indeed.

IMHO, Battle 2, Dreadful Fight, and Zeromus are all three awesome boss themes, and I can listen to any of them them anytime.

About FFIV: Actually yes, I did hear that in Mario RPG first because Mario RPG was literally the first RPG I had ever played (which makes me a late bloomer for being 27). But after that, I was knee deep in RPGs for years straight.

Though I have to know how close Clash on the Big Bridge was to the song you picked for FFV.

Same here, I also think of Mario RPG with that song first. Although it was my second RPG, not my first (EarthBound has that honor). Or maybe it was my third. I know SMRPG and Chrono Trigger were #2 and 3, but don't quite recall which was which.

Clash on the Big Bridge is a very interesting piece, but it just hasn't stayed with me the level that the boss theme has, so I went with that instead.

That's fair enough. You do hear it much more often than Clash anyways.

Btw, on your comment on Plants vs Zombies choice, you mentioned how you don't really pay attention to it because of house focused you are on building and such. It was definitely the case with me a few times, but if you play some of the extra mini-games and such, they'll sometimes use this track. But if you played it as much as I have, then you'd be familiar with it anyways.

I also have to mention that for most of the Final Fantasy music, I don't have the nostalgia for FF4/5 that some of you might. I've actually only started playing them within the last year. Still good sh*t, but I'm not as attached to it as y'all might be.

Bowser's theme from Super Mario Bros 3 is also in Super Mario RPG when you fight Bowser at the beginning.

No One-Winged Angel? The nerd community riots! Other one you picked, while less well-known, is a worthy substitution.

I don't know if you know, but the FF7 version of One-Winged Angel blows ass. The AC version is the definitive one.

Is the version from Ehrgeiz the FF7 one or the AC one?

Actually, I'm kind of glad that One-Winged Angel took a back seat this time. I know it's a memorable piece, but I have to tend to agree with Ix on this. To me it's not as good as people make it out to be.
