I'll have my own place again with likely a big screen and a projector (and 24" screens), but I don't think Atlanta is more central than Chattanooga.

Well, I'm coming from Waco TX, so Chattanooga is actually rather far, but I can deal.

If you do a Rate/Availability check, then you'll see to my dismay that the prices for the rooms have gone up significantly to $190 per night (which if we split between 4 occupants, $142.50).

The only way to get comparable room rates to what we had would be to go all-in and make an advance purchase. This would come out to around $107 per person. The downside is that THIS WOULD BE A NON-REFUNDABLE PAYMENT. If you so decided to pay me your MagCon fee and then later down the road, be it for emergency or whatever reason, I WOULD NOT be able to refund you any part of that payment.

Faced with this, I've decided to look into some other options that would have the features that we required and enjoyed in Chattanooga. Here's one that I've seen in Knoxville:

If you guys give me an idea of where you want to be, I could probably get us a good rate on a Starwood property since our parent company does work for them. There is an Aloft hotel in Suburban Nashville that's 108 a night http://is.gd/fv5cA. Still about the same price per room.

From what I've been seeing around here and hearing people saying, it looks like we're heading back to the same hotel in Chattanooga.

If so, we then need a head count of the people going.

@TTC, are you gonna drive from home each of the Con days to meet up?

As for your suggestion, I think it's cool, but Franklin puts a lot of us even further out than Chattanooga.

Shame. It seems that Magcon will never locate in the Northeast.

I would love a MagCon at RPGMM Headquarters in Virginia but I make the sacrifice and go further away so other people don't have to drive as far.

I don't think anyone should be able to complain unless they live out further than the person who is for sure going that lives the farthest out. And I think that would be Rune at around 13 hours of driving. I think Ix and myself are around 9. So if you are less than that, you don't have much of an excuse.

Maine to Tennessee...Hmmm I know it's 14 hrs to Michagain from where I live And Tennessee is a might farther away than that. I'n guessing that would be a solid 18-20 hour drive for me.
