Made by Retro Studios. I'm so happy.

Quote:
A New Country for Old Friends

Controlled by a group of evil Tikis, the animals in Donkey Kong Island have raided Donkey Kong's Banana Hoard and stolen his stash of bananas - and he understandably wants them back. Retro Studios brings Donkey Kong™ back in a new side-scrolling adventure with familiar characters and new levels that reignite the passion players had for the Super NES™ original.

Features:

* Retro Studios faithfully restores everything that made the original series great, from barrel cannons to mine carts, and then builds on those elements with stunning graphics and new layers of depth to the world and game play. The game offers the traditional side-scrolling experience everyone loved, but with levels created in fully rendered 3-D environments.

* Diddy Kong™ joins the quest. With his trusty backpack, he can produce a jet pack or Peanut Pop Guns to give Donkey Kong more abilities.

* For the first time ever, the franchise features the ability for two people to play together at the same time (additional accessories required and are sold separately) - one as Donkey Kong, one as Diddy Kong. Players can navigate the levels separately or as one unit. Diddy Kong can ride on Donkey Kong's back and hop off whenever he pleases, allowing novice players to ride on Donkey Kong's back through more challenging areas of the game.
Hidden items, puzzle pieces and other surprises are found all through the jungle. Spell out K-O-N-G by the end of each level to earn an extra bonus.

* Motion controls give players a real feeling of control. Players move Donkey Kong using the Control Stick on the Nunchuk™ controller and can shake the Wii Remote™ controller to make Donkey Kong slap the ground.

* Vibrant colors, beautiful graphics and fun characters draw players in. Even people who have never played a Donkey Kong game before can pick up a controller and start collecting loads of bananas.

* Every level offers new fun and new challenges. Sometimes Donkey Kong is running through the jungle, sometimes his action takes place on a tropical beach and other times he must become a master of timing as he jumps chasms in a mine cart.

Genre: 2-D Platformer
Players: 1 - 2
Developer: Retro Studios
Release: Holiday 2010

Not only do I find this freaking awesome, but the potential for a DKCR 2 and DKCR 3 is epic as hell.

ABOUT TIME! This is awesome. Though not near as awesome as having it be ONLINE co-op.

Wait... what?

So what the f*ck is wrong with using a second controller that you already have?

I think it means that you need two controllers.

I doubt that. How many games that have multiplayer have come out that specifically tell you that you need to buy additional hardware to play multiplayer?

It's just talking about extra controllers.

A controller is not an accessory.

Regardless, if that's what they ment... it was horribly worded. And a bit of a dumbass statement. No sh*t, you need a second controller to play with a second person.

Well, it's just like coffee at McDonalds... you have to tell people that it's hot. Some people probably expect a controller to come with it. You never know.

It's already better than Kirby's Epic Yawn... you can die! I'm actually looking forward to this. Please don't screw this up, Nintendo.

I might be a little disappointed if at no point do you get to play as Diddy.

At no point have I played as Diddy. I think it's a second player only deal. And actually I'm a bit disappointed innitially. Granted I haven't even beaten the first world, so I'm going to reserve the right to change my overall opinion of the game. But here are my first impressions (beginning with the bad):

Remember how I was worried it was going to be waggly? Well it kind of is. There are storyline events that require you flail crazily as well as when you beat a level (depending on what you get, as it does the roulette thing from DKC2). Also, your ground pound move requires equal amounts of waggle. DK also comes with a new move. Blowing. There are dandylions around the level and you have to hold down on the d-pad (I'm using the sideways wiimote config) and waggle. This will make DK blow air. This is mostly to find hidden stuff. But the worst part of it all? Remember in DK1, 2, and 3? That you had an attack other than jumping on enemy's heads right? DK's was rolling, Diddy's was a cartwheel, Dixie's was a hair spin, and Kiddy's was pretty much the same as DK's. This move could be done off a ledge and you could still jump. This made for some very interesting platforming and timing. And what did you do to preform this move? Press the run button. What is it now? Hold a direction and waggle. This is getting very hard to get used to and I don't really understand what was wrong with just pressing the run button to do it. Because DK still has a run button, but hitting (holding) makes him run instead of walk and nothing else. I mean who's bright idea was this and why did everyone agree on it. It's like Nintendo just CAN NOT release a game unless it has waggle in it. And it's retarded. Hopefully I'll get used to this, because as it stands now, it's rather hard to bare.

But on the plus side, the level design so far has been really interesting and fun. It does actually feel like a DK title. The music is very reminiscent of the classic DKC titles, and the graphics are very fitting. If it wasn't for the waggle control, I'd literally have nothing bad to say about this game.

::Edit::

Ixion: And anyway
I read your impressions. I haven't gotten the game yet, though.
Sad to hear about the run-waggle
There's not other control options?

Lantis: absolutely not
You know what's in the "options" menu?
two things
Audio
and "how to play"
which isn't an option
like... at all.

Ixion: lol
Optional "How to Play"

Lantis: HAHAHAHA
that's nintendo in a nutshell

Ixion: A shame
