So, MG2 comes out pretty soon. How soon? Well check out the download... it's a flash counter, and it's accurate.

Anyways, NEW TRAILER and NEW SUIT.

Cloud Mario, what?

See, they don't need to make a Super Mario Bros. throwback. They need to make new games like this.

Holy crap, guys. This game is amazing. Definitely the best game of the year thus far. Please tell me some other people are playing.

I'm playing it. More of the same, really, which is a very good thing in this case.

Actually, I found that they added a large amount of new things... enemies, powers, ect. The only thing that is the same is the gravity physics... and Mario, himself. They did bring back all the old powers and a few of the game elements from before (like the Monkey Balls gimmick), but the 'same stuff' is definitely the minority here.

OMG BLARGG!

Could I 'borrow' someone's copy :P. (What it's not like I have a hacked Wii or anything).

I'll probably pick it up soon, and add it to the list of games I've bought but still haven't played yet.

Haven't bought it, yet. I've got a gift card with its name on it, though. I'm just undecided whether to get it now or wait. I've still got Super Paper Mario borrowed from my sister that I haven't played it; and I've got Tales of Vesperia, which I bought before MagCon, and haven't played yet. I'm thinking I'm going to have to add "played games" to my Activity List.

So I've beaten the game and it was absolutely awesome. And what's more, you can do a lot of post game stuff and I've been enjoying a LOT. In Mario Galaxy 1, getting 120 stars unlocks Luigi... and he can collect 120 stars, but that doesn't do anything. But seeing as you can KIND OF play as Luigi from time to time, getting 120 stars and beating the game unlocks a whole new 120 DIFFERENT stars. You can also permanently change to Luigi as well if you want to. Also, when you beat the game normally without 120 stars (I think the max you can have before fighting Bowser for the last time is like 105) you unlock another world with some really neat levels (world S). Anyways, if you collect all 240 stars, you unlock one final level in World S and the game will show you how many deaths you had up until that point.

I'm currently 216 stars strong, and I'm looking forward to the final level. I've put so many hours into this game already, but I still can't put it down.

And really? 240 stars? I never even got around to getting all 120 stars in the first game! Sounds like a completionist's dream game.

Oh, btw... it's not 240 stars... it's 242.

I've got 241... that last one is absolute murder. Once I get it though, I'll have the deathcount of my entire playthrough. I just spent about 200 lives trying to beat it and was THIS *holds index finger and thumb closely together* close. =( The 241th star is from the level you unlock from getting all the 120 green stars. But if you get 9999 star bits in the banktoad, the comet star will appear on the level... which you have to do without ever taking damage.

I really really need this game... Listening to music, it sound even more epic than SMG1 was, and it makes me think, if this is what Nintendo can do to Mario, what can they do to Zelda?

OMG, uber stoked! I finally got that 242nd star. And with it, I gain the title of Master of the Galaxy... and my death count.

Which was 703. And almost a third of that was just trying to get the final star. Too bad there aren't achievements or trophies on the Wii... 'cause they need to recognize!

Nice to know that Nintendo isn't dumbing down the difficulty of their big-name Mario titles. For some reason, I still expect it to happen.

Did I mention you can beat the game with only a measly 70 stars?

So what? You could beat Super Mario 64 with only a measly 70 stars, too. Actually, it's possible to beat it with only 50 stars, if you know the trick to get past the "endless stairs" while they're still endless (which is actually quite easy to pull off).

And you could beat Super Mario World with only rescuing one Yoshi egg.

Heck, you could beat the first Super Mario Bros. without setting foot in any of the wild goose castles.

Let's not confuse completion with difficulty. :P
