1. Could you go over what you presented this year at Magcon?
My entry was a gameplay demo of Survival 2. Unfortunately some features and all cutscenes were removed due to time, and not wanting to spoil anything.
2. What do you think might be a good estimate of when you might release your game?
I'm aiming for Fall 2010. I thought I was getting near previously- such as the Halloween 2009 issue when I stated I was nearly finished with the game- but I felt the need to flesh out the content. That, and some scenes and story were pretty poorly written.
3. Is there anything you wish you would have added to your presentation?
Some features that are in the game now, such as new and finalized emblems and custom monster graphics. Other than that it was what I intended it to be.
4. What did you think of the presentation and live reactions this year?
Great. I got myself a bit of a swelled head with the Survival 2 playthroughs. Having one's hard work paying off like that does more than anything else. Though, the commentators are very correct- they DID miss quite a bit. Such as a special cutscene that had a 20% chance of playing that did not happen. Needless to say, the reaction to that scene would have been priceless and I was sad that it didn't happen.
For those that were wondering- get the Special Events token and sleep in the bed. Should activate eventually. (Only secret I'm giving away here.)
5. What other games at MagCon did you find impressive and why?
I enjoyed all of the other games- Dungeon Crawled the most- because it is a lot more fun getting live reactions rather than reading them after the fact (such as reviews). Draygone's LPs are the same way, so I hope he keeps doing those. Josh's Adventure was strange but refreshing. And I've tried Acre-Age, and this just proved even more that the game needs to be finished.
6. What other games would you like to see a live presentation of at MagCon 2011?
Any game, I say. Well, any that is not Watch Grass Grow.
7. Can we expect to see something from you next year?
Possibly. My oldest projects- Varmilia and Mencara Revelle- have been sitting untouched for quite a while now. I had decided to finish these immediately after Survival 2 wraps. Though I may release then long before the next MagCon.
Another contender is Survival 3, whose story is all ready decided. The only problem is that I am moving on from RPG Maker after these projects are over. And I doubt I'll move onto RPG Maker 2, 3, or even XP/VX. I was looking at computer programs such as RAD or DarkBasic. Whether I'd be allowed to show that at an RPG Maker convention or not, I don't know.
This year's presentation of Survival II is below.
