I've just watched the newest episode of 16 and Pregnant and declare it the realest episode of television in the last 10 years. I've seen more of this show on a whim and this show is hands-down the best representation of American women since Married With Children was on the air.

Presenting Episode 208: Leah
http://www.mtv.com/videos/16-and-pregna ... list.jhtml

The TL;DWatch (the show is 1 hour, but you really should watch it! It's way better than my synopsis).
Leah, the self-proclaimed mature 17-year old, got out of a relationship with Robbie and is now pregnant with a rebound guy, Corey after only being together a month. With twin babies on the way, they discuss everything and decide to try and make it work. Corey decides to sell his prized truck in order to afford a used 4-door truck and some money to get an apartment for his new family. Leah, on the other hand, is chiefly concerned with herself and her life.

Corey works two jobs for 18 hours a day, day and night shifts, to put a roof over their heads, food in their stomachs, and lights in their house and gives her the ability to leave the kids with her mom and go to high school. On top of that, he even rubs her feet if they hurt. He is an honorable guy. But when he gets home, Leah is ready to go out and hang out with her friends. Corey doesn't like how her ex Robbie is with that group she's hanging out with, but doesn't try to stop her, even though he voices his concern about him and how now she has kids and shouldn't be going out all the time. So they argue. Or rather, she argues with him. He tells her to put herself in his shoes, to which she responds curtly "I don't care". Corey's not stupid, though, and he basically predicts everything that she's doing.

But Robbie is the fun guy. He makes her forget that she's not a mother. Maybe Corey could be Mr. Fun if he didn't work all f*cking day and night. So anyway, she decides she doesn't want Corey and breaks up with him, all while Corey is begging and pleading with her not to do it, because he loves her so much and he wants everyone to stay together. But nope.

So then she tries to go back to Robbie. She says that she thought that Robbie would be glad to hear that she broke up with Corey, but Corey pretty much ignores her. MTV does a little time warp magic here, because I know this was an extended scene:

What really happened between Leah and Robbie - Ix's Prediction wrote:
Leah told Robbie that she and Corey broke up. Robbie was like cool. Leah then proceeded to have sex with Robbie multiple times. Leah then probably brought up the prospect of getting back together with him, but Robbie is not a f*cking idiot and he's not raising anyone's babies. Why should he? He's in high school and he's not trying to be a father.

Leah clearly underestimated her value. Kids drive down a woman's value tremendously.

That said, Leah postulates that she made a mistake. In the meantime, Corey had decided to move on with his life and started going out with another female. Leah can't believe that he's done this because they just broke up. But she drives by and sees him having fun with another female, which tears her up.

So, Corey then moves out of the apartment, and generally out of her life, period. But he does stay in touch with his kids as much as possible.

In the final scenes, you can see so much regret in her eyes. She's crying rivers of tears, saying she made a mistake and she wanted Corey back. But Corey ain't having that sh*t. So now she's stuck having to deal with two children with no help, she doesn't have a job, no money and they show her with this look of "what the hell that I do" glossy eyes that is just so priceless to me.

That's it.

This episode is the average American woman, who starts this way at 16 and stays that way until her 30s, when she says to herself "oh crap, I'm getting old!" and then starts putting makeup on a pile of sh*t. The comments section is full of single mothers. Half of them are supporting her, the other half calling her stupid for giving up on a good man who wanted to take care of her and the kids.

I am so thankful to God that American women ignored be for most of my life for being the smart, wannabe white negro. This episode should be entitled "American Woman 101".

You know, Ixz. To be perfectly honest, I had never really wanted to watch this show. However, you brought about a good synopsis of just one episode. Thanks for sharing.

This sounds like an absolutely horrible show. It seems to bring out nothing but negativity in both anger for seeing people making stupid mistakes, and negativity of looking at the wreckage at the end of it all and going, "Ha! Serves you right!"

Something about this seems like I'd need to take a shower after ever episode. It might be a good example of modern women these days, but I think it's a horrible as a show in general. Definately something I wouldn't ever be able to get into. Thanks for sharing, but I'll pass.

Yes, I believe the concept of such a thing is horrible and I don't say it's a great show because of that. But it IS an educational tool for men who don't understand how these women act. Except for the one in a million phenomenon, this is the American woman, just with a variable frequency of similar behavior.

Are you kidding me Ixzion, these aren't even women, they are little girls so I don't agree that this is "the America woman" except for the "one in a million phenomenon".

I'd rather watch Pimp My Ride.

And if you don't know, now you know.
