So at work, we have a woman's restroom and a men's restroom. The men's restroom has a really fickle door knob, and sometimes you'd find it difficult to open from time to time. Not a big deal, right?

Well. The women complained enough to have the company re-model their restroom. But now they can't use it... so now the men's restroom became a unisex restroom until it's finished. So now there's a stupid pink piece of paper hanging of off it to flip to let everyone know when a woman is in it. That's fine and dandy... but I wish they'd flip it back around when they are out. So us guys either have to just not use the restroom at all, or have to risk that awkward moment of talking to some chick while she's on a the john.

And what's more, for the durration that we are sharing this restroom, they bitched about the knob enough that it's being replaced. It's been that way for YEARS. But holy crap, women use it for a week and NOOOOOOOOO. And here I am needing to drop a crazy duce rgiht now... and I can't because the women have to have the knob replaced on a restroom they won't even be using much longer.

If the roles were reversed, I bet you this wouldn't have been an issue. In fact, not only would we have not worried about the knob... but we would have just not f*cked with our original restroom to begin with. WOMEN, ARG!

What I would like to know is how come women forget to flush in public restrooms. Eew... My mom and sis actually forget every once in a while at the house. While I always flush the thing. Roles have been reversed. Also, how come you ladies sit down to use the bathroom yet in the public restroom you clearly miss you target.

I hate the whole "put the seat down thing".

It takes more effort for us men to lift the seat up than it does for women to put the seat down.... not really related...

The "put the seat down" thing is just a tool of female control. It's just an instrument for women to b*tch and nag. Really, men of the world would be better off if they ignored just about every word that came out of a woman's mouth.

I like the seat down. I think toilets are ugly without the seat AND COVER down. I yell at my gf all the time for not putting the cover down. Of course this isn't just about control with me; I just have a very short list of "things go like this" stuff. Like you don't put dirty dishes in or next to the sink. They go in the dishwasher.

But yeah, if they did that at my work and didn't flip it back, I would just take the door off the hinge and let them deal.

And lets say roles were reversed. Lets also say that the men's room wasn't being remodeled, but that it was truly out of service. Do you think you would share the women's?

No. No you would not. You would be told that there is a Circle K down the road or at BEST they would rent a porta-john. Just saying.

Have you spoke with management or human resources? This seems like a serious and unfair work related issue.

This topic generalizes one of the reasons that actually interests me about being female: while some might say that women are still oppressed and others would say we're in a world of gender equality, the truth is that women are treated a lot fairer than men.

Anyway, I like to keep the toilet lid down, partly because it's visually uanppealing to be standing next to an open toilet, and also because I do not want to see when somebody forgot to flush.


May I ask how you would know this to be the case?

I can vouch for him that it's the truth. Female public restrooms are gross, and "missing the target" isn't even the worst of it.

Just as well, I don't like using public restrooms, anyway.

I know I regularly enter women's restrooms with the express purpose of pissing on their seats.

prolly true, i been in women's toilets that didn't even have seats and you kind of had to do that because the toilet was covered in what can only be described as 'stuff'. and none of the doors locked. the procedure in most toilets is when you come out of the stall tell the waiting crowd whats wrong with it and let them decide if they still want to use it. most people still will unless it's like - there's no toilet roll or something. cus that's the worst. that's why you get pee on the seat a lot is because there is very often no toilet roll and you forget to check before you sit and then you can't wipe it off!

I would like to know how women's bathrooms could possibly be disgusting. I mean, YOU MUST SIT DOWN.

What I usually see in worst case scenarios is maybe some hair follicles or piss on the seat if someone has peed standing up.
