... At this very moment I am taking a walk of reminiscence down the path of movies from childhood that I do not not remember much about or have seen in many years, and this particular walk has come in the form of "Just One of the Guys".

I find it surprisingly well-written and much funnier than most comedy movies nowadays.

For those of you who do not know, this comedy from the 80's (you can easily tell it is, in practically every scene) revolves around a high-school girl named Terri (she wears a hair ribbon! OMG!) who feels that men concentrate on her raging cuteness far too much to appreciate her other precious qualities and help her land ahead in the crazy world that is the immediate aftermath of the women's lib movement.

... Therefore she chooses to approach her school one day as the new guy in town, believing that an ongoing work of researching the male race will ultimately help her start a career as a journalist after graduation as has been her lifelong dream, by enlisting the help of her hopeless sex-crazed younger brother, dodging the come-ons of another girl who somehow cannot discern Terri's true gender, and avoiding the suspicions of a jealous boyfriend, and hilarity ensues.



I strongly recommend this one just to pass the time or for a good laugh.


The playfully strained, almost anime-like relationship between Terri and her brother as he fails miserably at picking up women is what males for most of the comedy in this movie. It's all really quite hilarious.

... Because I couldn't find a scene on YouTube describing any of that. Sure, a still-frame is just as descriptive.




Granted, there's a few awkward scenes involving the guys' shower end of the school, also, but you will find that to be a serious flaw in the film only if you are as homophobic as I am.

Yup, totally a memory worth recalling in the video games forum.

Oh, I should probably mention: I approve of this movie. Or at least its concept.
