So, my sister flips to some movie about these two people who are destined to be lovers while in my room. I would leave or do something else, but I'm also near-sleepy so I lay down and watch it til the end.

So, it's a white guy and a black woman. They have an argument in the store while they're together because she has a huge chip on her shoulder about race and constantly talks to him about it. Just this one time, he's like "baby, can we talk about something other than race?" and then she gets all angry at him like "oh, so I can't talk about race now?" and typical black woman sh*t.

So they don't speak for two weeks. The white guy goes over to her house, apologetic as f*ck and finally proposes his love to her at long last! But that's not good enough for her. She tells him that she's met someone else and that's that. Not a care that he said that he loved her. So he leaves crushed as hell.

And she goes about her life with this new guy. He's perfect. Good-looking, well-off doctor. He doesn't do anything wrong. Except not be the white guy. So, he's trying to move things along and she realizes that she loves the white guy after like two weeks to a month after telling him to f*ck off. So she leaves Mr. Perfect and goes to find the white guy.

She finds him, I don't even remember if she said she was sorry, and says she loves him. And you know what this motherf*cker said?

"I've been waiting for you."

That's the sickest piece of sh*t I've ever heard. After that, happy ending.

I asked my sister why the hell would he take that b*tch back after she unceremoniously ripped out his heart and left him in the dark for all that time.

But I hit a wall of chick logic.

"Oh, she WAS seeing someone, so that was the truth."
No, she had been on like a casual dinner with relative's man friend aka Mr. Perfect. There was nothing going on. She deliberately hid the truth about that to hurt the white guy as much as possible for daring to ask to talk about something other than race.

"But he didn't talk to her for two weeks!"
Why would he talk to her sooner after a big-ass argument like that? Also, SHE didn't talk to him, either.

This goes on for a little while until I realize what I've done. I immediately shut the f*ck up and let her have the last word.

I had stepped into a argument about a stupid b*tch in a chick flick with my sister. I was completely mad at myself for not noticing earlier. Could have saved 5 minutes of my life.

Chick Logic is an oxymoron.

The movie (like most chick flicks) was a female version of porn. They go for that stuff even though it is as unrealistic as male porn where the guy just all of a sudden trips into a threesome or foursome. I wouldn't worry about it.

I just love chick logic. You want to know how chick logic works? It's actually qutie simple:

Step 1: State your opinion.

Step 2: Stick your fingers in your ears and say, "LA LA LA LA LA LA LA"

And somehow, you are right about whatever it is you are talking about.

I got into a debate with Rachael about how Lightning from FF13 was not build after Cloud from FF7 (dispite the fact how similar they look). She was absolutely sure that Tetsuya Nomura, himself, was told to make a "female cloud" because some random site on the net said so. After I realized how stupid the whole thing was I felt real sheepish.

But yeah, try and talk to any woman about The Notebook. And try telling them the chick in the movie was a whore for sleeping with another man while engaged to another... oh boy.

I was in a similar situation last night as well.

My sister told my mom that she had a group meeting at "9:00," and that she was going to need at least 15 mins. to get there. I look at the clock, and it says ten mins. to 9. Despite Ixz and Deeper's objections for me to shut up, I blurted out that it was impossible for her to get to her destination on time, before leaving to go to my dad's.

I think that being raised by my mother and grandmother and having to face their insane "chick logic" is why I'm gay.

Straight guys have to be equally insane to want to put up with that their whole lives.

jesus, i know i don't usually agree with your statements on things like this ix, but your sister's logic on that one makes no sense at all.

logically, the guy in the film should have told the chick to piss off - though realistically he would have taken her back. being in love with someone does that to you. it's all very silly and illogical, love. but realistically they probably got married and then got divorced in less than a year after they ended up hating each other because they weren't really compatible, just in love (and drama). that just wouldn't have made such a good ending i suppose =/

Did Lantis ever tell any of you? I left the movie theatre before anyone else just to call him and gripe about how cheap and boring this film was, .... and I was aghast to actually find couples coming out of the door after me and seeing the girl in nearly every pair crying!

@sk - yeah i was going to address that but i figured it might be a bit off topic *shrug* i havn't seen the notebook or sex and the city ... i can't really get into chick flicks. i go to see films mostly with a male friend who shares my taste... we saw wolverine origins and watchmen and drag me to hell (and yes, harry potter, it looked quite dark and actiony) - and we watched azuma and azuma II and zombie films and stuff like that...

Whether it was off-topic or not I was going to that monkey off of my back because the topic had reminded me of it.

I HATE THAT FRIGGIN' MOVIE!
