I found some notes from the game I started for the Pav contest only to have it taken down by my dog and a corupt memory card. I've decided to turn it into a story for us members at the mag. I did this for another message board a long time ago and a lot of people seem to have fun with it.

The story is based on guild and follows the main character Sara around as she progresses up in rank. For the game I was making I have some of the mag members already set up as characters.

Ix - Head Guildmaster
Kumo - Samurai/Instructor
Bon - ??????
Feros - Farmer
Myoky - Thief
Fruple - Sorceress
Dray - Double Agent

If you would like to be a charcter just post what type of character you would like to be and I'll try to put you in if it flows with the story. If it doesn't I'll ask you to switch it. But I'll give it my best to try to fit it in.

I do need one major character. I need to have someone volunteer to be Sara's rival. This character is a male. That is the only requirment for this one.

Also need:

A Gang Leader
A Master Weapon Maker
These characters along with Sara's rival already have their own personalities, I just need names for them.

I'll try to keep the story progress very quick, but it all depends on my schedule.

So is anyone game?

Or a scholar of some sort? As long as it's not a scholar who dies stabbed in the first scene, I'll be fine with anything else.

In that case, could there be a knightly sort of guild member who takes a particularly protective role over Sara? If so, then please allow me to be him.


But if not, whataface, then just for a change of pace I volunteer to be this "rival" of Sara's, instead.

not a problem that should work out really well. Maybe a young Knight guild member.

CHAPTER 1

Sara sat in the field in the tall underbrush with her bow at the ready.

She had been there for 3 hours in the pouring rain. Across the field a group

of terrified Merchants waited for her to complete her mission. For the last

three days the Merchants weren't able to cross the field to make their

deliveries. A monsterous toad had laid claim to the field. He would attack

anyone he found in his territory.

Sara continued to sit in the cold wet underbrush wishing to receive the

signal from Master Samurai Kumo. He was in a tree top scouting the field

for the toad.

Sara scanned the field. She had begun to wonder if the toad was going

to show up. In the distance she could see that the Merchants were getting

antsy. She just prayed that they didn't do anything stupid.

"Lets face it. The toad ain't comming," shouted one of the Merchants!

"Crap," mumbled Sara. This is the last thing we need!

Looking up she could tell that Master Kumo wasn't affected by the

obnoxous Merchant. Sara's attention kept bouncing from the field to the

Merchant. Please don't do anything stupid she thought.

Closing her eyes Sara tried to regain her concentration. For if she didn't

slay the toad on the first shot, he would spray his toxin killing them all.

"Stay back", shouted Master Kumo causing Sara to jump out of her skin.

Sara couldn't believe it. The crazied Merchant was crossing the field.

After all the warnings they gave to them not to.

"You're all fools," hollered the Merchant stomping across the field.

RRRRRRR......

What was that though Sara to herself.

"You fool, you're going to get us killed," screamed Master Kumo!

RRRRRRR.......

The Toad is somewhere nearby. But where? Sara wanted to warn

Master Kumo and the Merchant but not knowing where the toad was she

didn't want to expose herself. A green flash darted across the field.

Master Kumo leaped out of the tree charging towards the Merchant with

his sword drawn. He had seen the toad comming, but how was he going

to stop him.

"The toad," shouted the Merchant!

" Ya think," shouted Master Kumo!

Sara raised her bow to take aim.

"Gah, get out of the way," shouted Sara!

The giant toad slowly changed from a light green to a deep purple. This

isn't good. He is going to spew his posion at any moment. We don't stand a

chance, thought Master Kumo to himself. Sara is going to have to take a

running shot.

"You better pray Sara's a good shot," mumbled Kumo to the Merchant.

" Huh," answered the Merchant.

Sara bolted out of the underbrush and quickly zeroed in on the toad.

Startled by the sound the toad darted around. Master Kumo pushed himself

and the Merchant to the ground. Sara released the bow uncertain if she

would hit the toad.

The angery toad charged at Sara then halted. He stood there in a daze.

He tried to lunge towards her but fell to the ground. Sara raised her bow

and took the kill shot. The toad would never raise again.

The rest of the merchants ran towards them shouting their praise.

Master Kumo sheathed his sword and slowly turned towards the Merchant.

"The price had now risen. I want an additional 200 gold pieces",

demanded Master Kumo.

"Insultbot," shouted the merchants!

"You're crazy," replied Insultbot. "What for?"

"You endangered both Master Kumo's and Sara's lives by running out into

the field. I think an additional 200 gold pieces is more then reasonable. In

fact you should add an extra 100 gold pieces to the price," replied the

Oldest Merchant.

Insultbot dug into his pockets and angerly tossed the 300 gold pieces at

Master Kumo. He started to walk away from them but stopped.

"You know? You are a homo," he shouted.

"Beats being a donkey's behind," replied Sara.

Well, you certainly stayed true to Insultabot's wishes, whataface. ^_^

lol, I wasn't expecting that line either. But it does fit.

Sara and Master Kumo started down the path towards the Guild.

Both cold and went, neither wanting to talk. Sara wondered if she had

passed her exam, to do quests on her own. But looking at Master Kumo's

sullen expression she knew better then to ask.

In the distance she could see the Guild. She had thought often of

the old stone structure and all the different uses it had been. Before Master

Kumo's time the Guild was a fort used to transport goods to the local

villages. Then years after that it was the lead Headquarters for a

tyrant King. Sara wondered if the people prefered the tyrrant

King or the times they were in now.

For 10 years ago the land changed as they knew it. A young

wizard, named Ren Blade came to Seervile Village. He claimed to

be a friend of the people. He proved this many times by healing

them when they were sick or by protecting them from harms way.

Ren Blade's skills soon attracted the attention of King Saunders,

who brought him into his court. Ren Blade spent many years gaining

the trust of the King and the rest of the royal court. Then one night

hte defiant wizard snuck into the Castle Library where he learned the

secrets of the land. Venturing off into the night, Ren Blade charged deep

into the forrest where he found a beastial cave.

Ren Blade summoned the might demonic Gargoyle to the surface.

This however was Ren Blade's undoing. Angered that such an arrogant and

greedy being summoned him, the demon struck Ren Blade down. The

Demonic Gargoyle felt all humans must be like this. In a fit of rage he

released his mighty and deadly magic on the land.

To this day the people are still plagued by the Demon's deadly

curse. Monsters and bandits scarred the land and terrified the people. Then

the land became barren. The trees won't blossom and the ground won't

produce a single life giving sprout. All that remains are the bare trees

and the dried up grass. This was why the Guild was formed, to

protect the people.

"Sara? Did you hear me," questioned Master Kumo.

"Huh? No, sorry Master," answered a startled Sara.

"Hahaha, I didn't think so. You were in deep thought

over there," chuckled Master Kumo. "You have passed your exam.

"Thank you Master," replied Sara bowing to Master Kumo.

"Now if the Guild would just get some horses, so we wouldn't have

to walk in this damp and cold weather," mumbled Master Kumo.

"But you don't know how to ride," laugh Sara.

"Look, I gave you a passing grade and I can take it back,"

grumbled Master Kumo.

Sara and Master Kumo leaned into the two doors of the Guild.

After a struggle the doors sluggishly openned moaning with discontent. By

now the Guild was quiet and dark. All the students were asleep. The rain

came teaming down. Sara felt someone come up behind her. Spinning

around Sara threw a punch into the darkness and impacted nothing.

Hearing someone choking behind her, she bolted around to see

Master Kumo holding Myoky up in the air by his neck.

"You are....... very skillful Master," choked Myoky.

Master Kumo stepped back and tossed Myoky across the

courtyard.

"You are suppose to be on guard duty. This is not a game," angerly shouted Master Kumo.

Laughter came from above.

"Sarah Knight's, you're studying to become a Royal Knight. You

better start acting like one," demanded Master Kumo.

SK quickly moved away from the edge of the tower. Sara quickly

moved past Master Kumo and towards Myoky.

"Ouch, you didn't have to do that," whined Myoky.

Master Kumo moved past the two of them and left the courtyard.

Myoky stood up brushing the mud from his clothes. Sara could see by the

look in his eyes that SK had trick him into attacking her and Kumo.

"Sarah's Knight," shouted Sara knowing it would irritate him.

"For the last time call me SK," he shouted from the tower.

"Why do you constantly pick on Myoky. You're suppose

to set an example for him," returned Sara.

SK's shadowy form disappeared from the edge of the tower.

Sara knew she had given him something to think about. Sara

turned and pat Myoky on the shoulder. She knew if Myoky

would control himself better he would not fall for SK's trick.

"Oh Sara," whispered Myoky.

Sara turned to face him.

"If Sythe hasn't returned in the morning, Master Ixion wants you

to go and look for him. He'll summon you if your needed," Myoky said,

before bolting up the tower.

Sythe was the Guild's top student. What type of trouble could he

have gotten into. And why would Master Ixion send an unrank member

after him.

Sorry, I'll try to "set the example" from now on rather than being a mischievous little imp.

I should have more of the story up this weekend. Barring any unforseen events.
