'Cause it seems like we all have them. That one project that seems to be taking forever to complete. That one project that people doubt will ever come out... or at least, not this year.

Well, suppose you actually did finish it. It's out, now, and people have played it. After all this time, you suddenly find yourself one less seemingly lifelong task to deal with. Now that it's done and out, what now?

I've actually got two big projects. One is simply taking a back seat while the other takes a back seat to a smaller project. Needless to say, after my first big project is done, I'll move on to the second big project. Or maybe have one smaller project in between. But after both big projects are done? Not sure. I might fiddle around with other short projects here and there, but I've got nothing big planned, otherwise. Maybe I'll start working on my RPGM LPs full time.

Well, if you count my duology as being one big project - then I don't know what I'd do after that's done.

I have Kupid, and other things, to work on. But with those games out of the way, I don't have any idea.

Dunno. I usually have some ideas in my head at any given time.

But most of the time, I have no clue what to do after I release a game. With just about every game I've released, I'm out in the cold, wondering what to do with myself next. Work on rpgmaker? Do something else?

So, to summarize, I don't know what to do after I release a project or a big project.

It's funny really, I always ask myself this all the time. Most of us that have large projects, have been working on them for many years now. And it's always somthing that lingers in your thoughts... always on your mind. And it's not that it's a bad thing, but to think of it just not being there anymore is actually a lot more awkward. Even though it's "just a game" and what-not, it's still somewhat a part of you life.

I'm really not sure how I'd feel about it, but (because of how dialog heavy my game is) if Kupid is released before too long, I may know that feeling before the end of this year. I do have plans that actively have me using RM1, but I'm probably not going to start a full blown out title for quite some time. One thing I have on my mind is tutorial videos for RM1. From as simple as knowing what funtion does what from the main menu to custom menus and such (speaking of which, I may refer to you, Dray, from time to time what with you experimental nature you have with RM1 {see M DEF thread}).

But eventually I think I'll come up with enough minigames or puzzles I could possibly do in RM1 to warrent attempting another game down the road.

I... don't know...
I have considered making another game related to my current big project. But I'm not entirely sure yet.

I'm not sure. I'd probably move on to a smaller project, but who knows.

I moreso have several relatively equally weighted medium sized projects so finishing any one of them is not likely to remove any pressure to "be done". But assuming I finished the bigger ones or even all of them, I would feel like I finally managed to get my ideas 'out there' so any 'responsibility' I have to create is over. I could just relax then.

i can honestly say that if i ever finished my game i would fold up and walk away. by the time id finish the game i would of pulled off everything i ever wanted to do with the software and im sure quite a lot i didnt think was possible. i would most likely do small games with some of the other makers. once finished i would most likely have enough story to launch my own book which i wanted to write for some time now. it just takes so much work to develop a game.
