Welcome to 2010 Creativity folks.

You got a short story to share? Post it here. I don't care about length. I just want some activity in here. :)

Yay! I've been itching to write! I've had a lot of ideas based on characters I made for PSO, explaining their backrounds and relationships. If I had decided to actually write a story about them, a part of it would have been something like this:

It was midday when the young man woke up.
"Where... where am I?"
Last night's events were still blurry... he was running away. Somebody found out about his secret, and he'll never see his Love again. But what happened? Did he get caught? As he struggled to get up, he touched his head, it was bandaged. And that bandage was the only thing he was wearing. Definitively not caught, he'd be dead by now if he was... but where was his clothes?
The sound of the door startled him, but the girl that opened it, who was obviously not expecting him to be awake, was startled too. Fortunately, he was still covered by the sheet.
"I'm sorry!" said the girl, blushing as she turned around. I- I thought you were still-
"Where am I? Who are you? Where are my clothes?" said the young man quickly.

"I- I'm Joanna Starx" said the black haired girl. He thought he was pale, but this girl clearly beat him to it. You are in a shack near the coast. And... you barely had any clothes on when I found you bleeding."

Suddenly, everything came back. "Was I alone? Did you find another-
"You were alone"
"I see..." A romantic evening interrupted by an angry father that would never understand what they felt for each other. He remembered now. And he wished he hadn't.

The Doritos Story

Back in spring of 2007, I ventured over to the ever-popular Westover diner to get myself something to eat. I gazed over at the snack section and noticed that there were two new flavors of Doritos I had never seen before, Wild White Nacho and Smokin' Cheddar BBQ. Mind you, I had conceived the combination of Cheddar and BBQ to Frito Lay when I was a mere 8 years old, so to finally see this thing come into fruition (Ruffles had actually done it in the late 90's but it didn't last) made me very content. So, I went ahead and purchased the Smokin Cheddar BBQ flavor first and immediately fell in love with it.

I noticed on the package that these two new flavors I gazed upon earlier were competing to see which would stay and which would disappear off the face of this planet. Fortunately, when summertime rolled in, Smokin Cheddar BBQ reigned supreme, and for a while, I figured that this would be the flavor that was here to stay, along with other Doritos' classic flavors, such as Nacho Cheese (used to be Cheesier) and Cool Ranch (used to be Cooler Ranch). Alas, by February 2008, I had noticed that the visibility of my treasured flavor became more and more scarce, to the point where I didn't even see it at all. I called the Frito-Lay company, and they said that the flavor was out of production. I was heartbroken. How could a flavor that the entire nation vied for be out of production? Some people may say this was a stupid idea from the start, but I did it anyway: I spent 20 months, on and off, calling the Frito-Lay company, demanding that they restore the Smokin Cheddar BBQ flavor that was loved by many. Frito-Lay must have gotten rather annoyed with me because they sent me a letter with some coupons discounting me on some of their chips.

By late September of 2009, I had given up hope and accepted the fact that my flavor was pretty much nonexistent for good. I checked Facebook and happened to gander upon the Doritos page, and lo and behold, I saw that my flavor had returned (but was unaware that the time was limited), so I traveled to 5 or six stores before I finally gazed upon my Smokin Cheddar BBQ Doritos and the text upon the bag which read "They're Back..."

Within 24 hours, I purchased 10 99 cent bags, and within two weeks...well, I bought a whole lot more. I actually have two bags taped on my living room wall as a testament to all the blood, sweat, and tears I shed just to get one flavor of Doritos back. Laugh if you will, but for me, it was a short-lived victory.

Mr. Penguin
Inspired by a true story, and by that which must not be named

It's been days since I last saw it. Poor thing... it must be hard living in a farm. Mr. Penguin always hanged around the pond with the geese and the ducks, the swans and Mr. Turtle. And Mrs. Penguin too. But one day all the animals were restless, moving and running everywhere. It has never happened before. I never thought necessary to put a fence around the pond area. It took a while to round all the birds back at the pond. Mr. Penguin was nowhere to be found. I searched among the trees, on the barn and the chicken coop. I searched on the dairy farms, under the elephants, among the reindeer. The tool shed was empty, and so was the workshop. The green house only had it's usual habitants, and the Villa was closed. Where is Mr. Penguin?
As I cried for him, I suddenly thought: I should have never adopt him. A farm is not a place for penguins, elephants or reindeers! At least the alien cows can be milked, but what can I do with the other animals? As my thoughts came and go, I saw something black behind the avocado tree. It was Mr. Penguin! He came home at last.
Where did he go? What did he do? Each person and animal has it's secret, and not even Mrs. Penguin will know I fear, but he's home at last, near the pond. He's with the geese and the ducks, the swans and Mr. Turtle. He's back at Mrs. Penguin side. He's back with me. And that's ll that matters.

Uh Oh! Double Post!
My princess in another castle

To my dear princess:

The first time I saw you, my devotion was caught faster tan a master ball would. Your laugh refilled my energy tank. Your eyes pierced me deeper than a beam sword. Your aroma gave me more joy than a mega elixir on critical state. I didn’t know what it was at the moment. Was it love? Every time I see you, my heart beats faster than Donkey’s Kongas, my stomach feels like it’s full of butterfrees and I feel lighter tan Kirby.

And then I realized; I AM in love with you! You have the fourth piece I need to complete my heart. You are the Rosa to my Cecil, my ultimate achievement. For you, I’d roll a thousand katamaris and make new constellations for you. We’d ride to Rainbow Road and delight in the stars. I’d make the days last longer with the Ocarina of Time, so we could dance, dance all night. Nemesis, Pyramid heads, sisters, big or small, I’d fight them all to keep you safe. I’d even play CD-i Zelda; everything for you!

The cake might be a lie, but my love to you is not.
Kooloh Limpah! All my love is belong to you!

I hate customers...so very much.

I was working in the produce department, when this middle-aged woman came towards me with a question. "Excuse me, sir. Do you have any small lemons?"

"M'am," I said politely, "The only lemons we have are right in front of you."

"Yes, I know that," she said. "But they say 'large lemons.' I'm sure you have a section for small lemons as well."

I'm f*cking speechless. Can customers really be this dumb?

"I'm just playing with you," she said, and quickly went away.

I hate customers...so very much.

It was Tuesday, and I had called off work to be by my father's side. He was admitted to the hospital three days ago, and all the doctors knew that today was probably his last day.
He lay in his bed with a smile on his face, but I couldn't understand why. I didn't want to ask him why either. It was like he could read my mind.

"I'm remembering," he said suddenly.
"What?"
"You are wondering why I'm smiling. I'm remembering."
"Remembering what?"
"My life."
"Oh."

After that we just sat without saying a word for what seemed like days, until suddenly I watched the smile on his face turn in to a frown.

"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I'm remembering," he responded.
"What?'

Suddenly, he tensed up, and I could tell his life was near it's end.

"What did you remember?" I asked panicking.

He motioned for me to come closer so he could tell me. I got up and leaned down close to him.

With his final warm breath. he quietly whispered into my ear, "The Game."

He had lost.

Haha!

On the verge of exhaustion, the young dreamer kept going. He wasn’t going to let the witch gain another victory. He didn’t know what he was doing, but it was too late now. There would be time to polish his skills after the battle was over. The witch was also a formidable opponent, able to stop time on occasions. If only the dreamer could get one clear shot, and everything would be over. But the witch was ready; she kept dodging arrow after arrow, and it was matter of time before she froze him in time, making him an easy kill. For the last time, the dreamer took an arrow, determined to end this match once and for all, he was clearly anxious, and holding the bow tightly. The witch kept moving closer and closer. The dreamer let his arrow loose.
Everything went black.
Literally.

I turned off the PSP by accident again, and I’ll have to redo the fight against Ultimecia. This is actually the first time I use a PSP, and I must say, I don’t quite like where the power button is located. Dissidia made me realize that when I’m in a tight position, I hold the PSP so tightly that I end up pushing up the power button long enough to turn it off. So on though battles, my worst enemy is myself.
It also made me realize that hate Firion and his Power shot.

"Excuse me, sir. Where are the tomatoes?"

The woman, middle-aged, was obviously blind, for she did not realize that what lay before her were the tomatoes she had requested.

"My apologies, sir."

Why can't a customer do a little exploring before they ask a silly inquiry?
