Okay, I need a new mic. My headset's creaking is worse than ever. You recommend a Rockband mic, you say? How is it not awkward having the stand sitting in front of you? Though, you're sitting in a computer chair, not a sofa.

It stands to my right an only the mic part is infront of me. I can move it around if need be, but mostly I don't touch it. I usually rock in my chair when I play too, and I haven't noticed as such when I play back recordings, so you'll have a good deal of freedom with it. Also, it picks up no breathing.

When we use to talk on Skype, I used it in a sofa-like chair, and it seemed to work just as fine that way too.

Cool, thanks for the info. Alas, my next LP uses the creaky headset the whole way through, but I'll be sure to have a real mic come the one after.

I started using a new screen recorder. This one has built in timer, and lets you force a recording to any resolution reguardless how big you make it... So I can stretch my emulators across my 37 inch and it'll still record at a viddler sized window. I've been running a few quality tests, and I just need to try and get my FPSs up a bit higher and I'm golden.

I need to find a new setup for my audio recording. Currently, I just use headphones for audio output, and a standard computer microphone for input.

You'll have to let us know how it is. HyperCam's no good for me because it gets noticeably out of sync with the sound within minutes of recording.

I'm not sure if you guys knew this, but Viddler has playlists which can make it really easy to sort your videos. You can even embed your playlists. I'm thinking of embedding one for all my Lufia 2 videos to replace the list.

Actually, no, I wasn't aware. I tried looking, and didn't see the option. How'd you manage it?

If you go down to the very bottom of any page on Viddler, where most of the random support and business stuff is, you will notice the "Vidgets" link, click on this to get to the Playlist and Vidget (Embedded playlist) section.

Actually, I just spent about an hour trying to tamper with the embed codes that VIddler gives you for the Vidgets, and they don't seem to be compatible with the embed features of the Mag.

This is because the code that we put in the viddler tags here is listed as the code for the first video in the vidget in the embed code that is given. so really the only think we can do with it is get a single video embed...

@ Dray - Hypercam2 allows you to select your codec and compression. If you are having sync problems, you can fix it with the right codec. I've used hypercam2 for the longest time and have had perfect sync the whole time. But this new one is seeming to work just as expected. I was test playing Star Fox and it still seemed like the recording's FPS was still not up to par. I mean, it wasn't so bad as to make it unwatchable, but it would be nice to have it as high as possible.

@ Myoki - It seems like it works just fine, but the way we embed code with BB, there has to be single unique string of code with some default code around it. If there is an area in the code that has more than one unique string, then we may not be able to get it to embed in BB.

Also, it looks like the playlists are embed only. There's no way to just link to a page at viddler with said playlist like at youtube, which kinds of defeats the purpose.

Well, I'll figure it out sometime. It's only a matter of time before someone requests I LP an RPGMXP game.

I've discovered something new in the past few days; on Viddler, you know how it tells you not to navigate away from the page while your video is uploading? Well, for my past two LP videos I navigated away from the page before they were finished and both videos have turned out fine.

The first one I did, I navigated away at about 70%, but yesterday I closed the window at about 30% and about 3 hours later got an email telling me that encoding had finished on my video.

Dunno how it worked for you. I tried it last night, and the video never showed up.

...Well, yeah, there's a new video there, now, but that's because the second time I didn't navigate away.

Oh, well maybe it's just doing that for me...

So, Viddler's "group" option. I didn't touch it until now. At first glance, it seems that it's meant for what it says, that people can make groups for others to chat and post videos to. But the site doesn't say anything about what they're for (much less what they are), and I saw some folks on Viddler took advantage of that detail (or lack thereof), and made groups for their LPs. I decided to try the same.

In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have put all that effort into it. For all I know, anybody who joins the group can add videos. If that's the case, I might have an issue on my hands if I ever got any real attention. Still, though, it allowed me to make my video listings more organized, and will allow for Viddler folk to come to a clean-looking discussion. Though, after checking out Lantis's profile, I realize I could've just as easily edited my profile to list all the LPs.

Anyway, I'm not trying to advertise or anything. Just thought I'd point the feature out. Not really necessary, but interesting nonetheless.
