You know, I just posted another article not too long ago... it's sad I feel like I'm spamming the GD forum, but there's just so much flat out stupid sh*t going on these days. Make sure you read the second page.

Oh, btw... that case started two years ago, here's the most recent article I could find about it:

source: http://dcist.com/2009/01/roy_pearson_wont_go_away.php

Quote:
You have just got to be friggin' kidding me. The Associated Press is reporting that former administrative law judge Roy Pearson has filed a petition with the D.C. Court of Appeals requesting that his $54 million pants lawsuit case be reheard again, this time by a nine-judge panel. Three appellate judges ruled last month that Pearson's lawsuit had no merit. Pearson is now arguing that those judges failed to address all the issues in his appeal, and so is asking the full court to rehear the case. We just don't know if we can take another round of Pearson-related court proceedings. Surely the court can just reject his request at this point and refuse to rehear the case again, right? Pretty please?

Why wouldn't any judge just hear him out? He clearly has a valid case to present.

A valid case, but the price tag that comes along with that is what's ridiculous. Asking for $54mil for lost pants... give me a break. Maybe a few thousand dollars would be good compensation, but hitting millions is stupid and unreasonable. The demand needs to fit the damage.

But I certainly would love to have a pair of $54mil pants.

I could understand wanting to be compensated for the lost of the pants. But from what I have read it seems he is just out to get money. I can't see crying in court over a lost pair of pants. Please I probably would not even go to court over the whole issue of lost pants. It is cases like this that tie up our court system and takes years to have your case heard. I would just tell people not to take their clothes there.
