Welcome to the fourth edition of the Short short-story contest. The previous contest's winner, Gnash, has chosen the theme:

The theme is first-person.
You can write anything, as long as it is told from a first-person perspective.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows the rules.

1. No more than 250 words. If you go even ONE word over, it won't be accepted for judging.

2. Please post your word count under your story.

3. The winner of the previous contest cannot post their story first. Once one person posts their story, the winner is free to post one of their own.

4. This contest will last for two weeks (EXTENDED DUE TO NO ENTRIES). That should give you guys plenty of time to produce a short narrative.

Okay, guys. Those are the rules. Follow them, and best of luck to all the participants who enter.

My story:

I hate commercials. As soon as someone sees one on the television set, they try to emulate it and fail miserably. It was rather unfortunate that I, who struggles daily to retain my sanity working at a potato chip factory, became exposed to such asinine stupidity.

“It’s my money, and I WANT IT NOW!” screams a brainless idiot from his apartment, located just across from mine. It’s 2:30 in the morning, and I have to get up for work in about 4 hours.

A few moments later: “It’s my money, and I WANT IT NOW!” screams another idiot, located just a few windows east from the other one.

I alreadyknow where this is headed, so I get up out of my bed, open up my window, and scream back at my annoying neighbors:

“Shut the f*ck up! I’m trying to get some sleep!”

“It’s my money, and I— ”

“Who the hell is going to help your ass at this time of night, huh? Stop repeating that stupid commercial, and go to bed!”

“It’s my money—”

“Okay, I don’t think we understand each other. 2:30 in the morning. Work at 7. You being idiot. Either shut up, or I’m kicking your ass!”

For the next few minutes, there was complete silence. I merely assumed the idiot neighbors had given in and decided to avoid a physical beatdown from yours truly. I jumped into bed, and rested my eyes.

Just temporary. The idiots resumed, un-phased by my warning.

250 words :stab
