Yes, Gnasher. You have not experienced it, yet.

That "yet" is glaring at me.
Though I don't know any furries and I've never heard of any furries over in this side of the ocean. Apparently they're a local thing of the US.

But our otakus are probably worse than yours, since anime (and japanese culture in general) has a stronger presence here, I have reason to believe.
That's not saying furry conventions aren't the creepiest thing of this era, mind.

..... Actually, I am starting to wonder what is truly creepier: a convention of people who like to dress up as animals, ....

... or this ->
Image

I just now discovered this at The Spoony Experiment website, as an acquaintance of his was discussing bad anime. ... A little girl angel who beats people's skulls in with a spiked club? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE JAPANESE?!

I mean, do they actually look into a picture like the one above and get aroused or something (pardon my language)?! This entire concept is just plain WRONG!

If you think THAT is bad, never ever look up Elfen Leid (sp?).

'Wasn't planning on it, because I already knew that the same basic concept applied; the Japanese really seem to like little girls, and the gratuitous violence mixed in apparently only adds to the spice for them. ... What do we call this unsavory desire? Guro pedophilia?

Ugh ....

I mean, who in their right mind would like to see a nine-year-old girl with an impish smile coming at them with a brain-clucking device in one hand as the last thing before they dies? As The Protector of Angels, even I do not hesitate to say that I would rather it be a succubus woman smiling evilly down at me after a night of unbridled ecstasy as the last thing I see before my soul is sucked out by said succubus. .... At least that way I die in one piece.

Two words for you, SK:
Robo.
Geisha.

One thing I've discovered is that the answer to a lot of those questions is simply "JAPAAAAAAAN :shakefist "

But! They also came up with a guy dressed as a grasshopper who rides a praying mantis bike and defeats enemy doing strange poses. And all other sorts of people in ridiculous costumes defeating monsters (in even more ridiculous costumes) doing strange poses.
For that, I forgive Japan.

The picture you see is Japan's fad called Bagelheads.

Enjoy.

I liked Elfen Lied, the anime and the manga. I mean, I have a thick skin, so some of the stuff they do doesn't phase me as much as SK does.

So the other day I was taking a stroll around the internet (why oh why do I do that) and I saw something about "juggalos".

There were even people saying they were the new furries and then some horrified people posting videos of juggalo furries.

What the hell is a juggalo, anyway?

Juggalos are mainly associate with the Insane Clown Posse, Gnash. Look it up.

Hey, SK, Dokuro might disturb you... but think about it this way: The last thing you will ever see before dying could be much much worse. In fact, if I had to go... that would kind of be an awesome way to kick the bucket.

Oh, I had looked it up.
But despite the fact that these people dress like douches, I know nothing about their subculture.

Yeah, I had always thought of the ICP as being a big freaking joke, too. Their music is godawful, and they look utterly ridiculous.

And, Lantis, if I am not misunderstanding here and truly just heard you say that being splattered by a little girl would be an awesome death, ... you have problems. I cannot begin to address the number of levels in which the entire idea of Dokuro or whatever the hell that anime is called is just wrong.

But you'll save them from such dirty deeds, right Mr. Knight?
