Walk into the store with a pocket full of nickles, in a city full of horns, jackhammers, and rape-whistles. The alleycats manipulate the plots with gutter-magic. Today the heart beats only out of habit. Walk into the store, same pockets, same nickles, in a city where every crack in the sidewalk is a symbol. Cigarettes, gum, and milk; bitterness, love, and violence; running with cannibals who bite the hand that feeds 'cause it tastes better than the food; insert laughter here.

There is some alarm in my vicinity which goes off like an apocalyptic klaxon nightly, and I do not know to what it is attached, so that every night is given over to the sensations of an air which carries desolation unaccountable wherever it goes. And yet, the more frequently it comes, the more prone I am to smoking on my fire escape in a furrow of calm, dug out of the noise, which is the width and breadth of my serenity, reflexive against such turmoil. I have come to think that the more wild and unruly a silhouette of its former glory the world becomes, the more expansively my stillness will entrench itself, until there is no margin fit for the commentary of my calm, and it makes the world its page.

Related to God like twins in rivalry, they were always suspicious of each other, and razing each other with creation, so that he found there was nothing of God which he could not unmake, and nothing of Him that could not be remade as God's; they were as two bears in one den.

"Acts of faith will be performed by machine guns and rifles, less pleasant to God than the aroma of burning flesh," he muttered, "and so in these times to come there will be great relapses in the resolve of God, and he will level with fire the tallest buildings to sleepy lakes of glass - but when you feel the air sucked out of your lungs by the heat's yearning, know that this is God, his nostrils above you, bent down into the inferno and huffing the smell of it all; like a man with a cold, through a steamed rag."

Location: Out there. In that place. You know, with the "thing"
The slate is clean. Tabula rasa. The old mistakes of the past are cleansed. We start anew. We awake.

It is said...

Some claim that I have no faith. That I believe in nothing. That my existence is not blessed by the invisible hand of some trans dimensional being. I believe in the word. Not sentences, or phrases, or psalms, nor platitudes, or inspirational wit. It is rather the word as spoken idea. I believe in the truth, the will of human nature, the leap of thought. But I believe (as an action) to hope for truth, to imagine what I desire to give me comfort. To justify sentience as a whole. To give existence purpose. It is not what I believe personally that counts, though. No, it is your belief as well that you buck the system entirely, or conform to it. This difference can cause rifts between peoples. Both politically and socially.

I believe that Philosophy is the search for truth, not divinity. I feel it should exist solely with science. But I will acknowledge that the scientific method is a valid and useful way to examine spiritual thought. Become calm and look inward. Look at your situation, your place in life, take stock of your self. It does not matter how you do this. Through sexual means, or through psychedelic drugs, Alcohol, or simply by drawing, lighting a scented candle or going for a long run. These are all ways to meditation. Many of these ways are easy to abuse. They are ways to relax, to forget, but if used in moderation and with a purpose, they become powerful tools for self examination.

I believe that people subconsciously realize early on that it all means nothing, really. One can understand that this knowledge is both depressing and invalidates our desires for security. We seek out religion as a means to an end. It offers refuge from the truth with in the confines of speculation. It seems so fanciful and dream like. An answer! But don't be taken in. Independence is freedom of thought and belief, not the right to conform to one dictated way or another. Independence is the right to think the way you want, and if you happen to find others who share a similar opinion, all the better. It is respectful to others not to foist your beliefs upon them. Doing so corrupts their own independence. They are the ones who must choose their own fates, it is not your place to interfere in the mistakes others make. Personal mistakes are lessons waiting to happen. If one interferes in the lives of others, then they are robbing that person of knowledge about them self. Charity and advice are not interference, neither are opinions or suggestions. They are more tools to self discovery. They can be sought out or not, but they too can become addictive. Never take too much of any, because it is rude, and never take too little because it is selfish. Likewise, never give too much, or too little, for the same reasons.

I believe in the good idea, the most efficient way, the fairest decision.
I believe in logic, things that make sense, the simplest explanations.

And yet I believe that when we die we go to a place with other consciousnesses where we are asked if we learned a lesson, or felt we made a difference. It's a bit like a giant room or cave, but it goes on forever. When it is determined if you have or not you will either be free to go or you can have another go to learn another lesson. Some people are forced into life and they are the ones that need to learn the most lessons. Some come to be amused, and treat it like a game. But what ever the reason, your memory gets wiped before you enter life, and you don't get it back until you die, but you recall all the events of the life you just lived. I also don't think you are allowed to "leave" until you've learned a lesson, or made a difference.

The point then is to learn and do as much as possible to ensure you have covered enough bases to eventually leave.

But I also believe in Quantum Immortality. The idea that as long as a sentient being exists, that being will never truly experience death, because death is the cessation of all conscious thought, if you are not conscious, you certainly can't be self conscious, let alone fully sentient, and that presupposes the ability to understand that oneself is now in a dead state. Long story short, you'll never die because you yourself can never experience the dead state. From your perspective life will go on forever.

I guess I'll just have to find out when I get there, huh? ;)

From the first, I had set out in the wake of sounds bold with prophecy, yet lacking in clarity:
It was the echoing voices of the old ones, through thick steeled forests and over scorched earth. Always just out of reach, a murder of crows judged my every footstep. Penniless and entirely out of breath, I washed my beautiful hands in the acid's trough, but through it all the real stick in my spokes was the torment of my dreams:

I fought off sleep with both fists and sometimes fire.
With no more then a blow gun I made from an exhausted pen, I shot the stars out of the sky. When each one fell sparkling to the ground I made wishes that never came true. Apparitions of angels with angry eyes came with each new moon. My own ghost began whispering to me. Trees died if I tried to climb them. The decision was made for me to begin interpreting real life just as I would nightmares.

You screamed, "I am going to f*ck this cheeseburger". They all started laughing until you actually started having sex with the cheeseburger.
