Haven't posted a new topic in awhile.

If you haven't read the newest postings in the Arcadia Mania topic, I've decided to scrap the idea and instead port the two completed titles into their own games. (Find the Needle in the Haystack and Donkey Kong: topics coming soon!)

Which made me realize something personal I might not have noticed if I dropped any other project. While I'm still fond of the sweeping epic games, I just haven't got the patience to produce such titles. Usually I expect too much out of myself or my audience and burn out.

See, I always want to go above and beyond. Take some mud and shove it in the competitor's face. But that attitude leads me to make goals that are too high. Make promises that are too lofty. I have the know-how to make something spectular, but I haven't the drive to do it.

So, what I think I should do, is set the bar a little lower. Instead of setting the bar abnormally high and never getting close to reaching it, I think it'd be wiser to develop simpler, less ambitious games. So, while it won't blow your socks off, it will be complete and you'll actually be able to PLAY it.

In the future, with this in mind, I think the best thing to do is release smaller, simple games or, if a long game, keep things simple and only slighty ambitious. That way titles will actually get finished.

After the release of FtNitH and DK, you may be able to look forward to a different development studio.

That's a bit refreshing to hear. I suffer from the same problem, except I can't get myself to "set the bar lower" so I just end up quitting. I do still pick up my game from time to time but for the sake of not annoying you guys with updates that are so small and far in between, I just don't say anything.

Congrats on being able to resolve the problem. Maybe I can take a note from you and attempt the same. Someday.

I continue to maintain that this is the best approach toward working with the RPGMs. Congratulations on embracing it.

Thanks Bo, and you too insult.

It's a genuinely exciting idea, made moreso because I stumbled on it myself. Think about it. Smaller games with a focused development to make the game fun and bug-free. I can't wait to get started brainstorming some ideas.
