Long or short, I don't care.

Last night, Ixzion, his sister and I were supposed to go to Dave and Buster's to get a bite to eat, heading out at 9 p.m. It took us 2 hours to get there. Now, I know what you're thinking: How the hell is that possible? Well, Ixzion's sister made a series of pit-stops which delayed the eating routine. Firstly, after roughly half an hour of driving, she stopped at a bike shop in a seemingly rough part of the neighborhood so that she could talk to her friend. She assured Ixzion that she was only going to be there "30 minutes," but this was merely an exaggeration. After being there for nearly an hour, Ixz and I thought we were finally going to get something to eat, but lo and behold, his sister's friend (one who I've known since elementary school) had to make a stop at Wal-Mart because "the shoes [she] was wearing didn't match her outfit."

Ixz and I were both hungry, and generally upset. We finally get to Dave and Buster's at just past 11 o clock. After a brief wait for our table (that time was spent in a crowd playing the crappiest of arcade games), we have to wait a good 45 minutes after getting beverages to get our food, which frankly, wasn't worth the 20 bucks I spent. We finished our meal in 15 minutes. Ixzion and I didn't get home until 1 in the morning, and Ixzion vowed never to go on any more excursions with his sister. Needless to say, if it were just he and I, we would have been home long before midnight.

Today, I sat around in my bedroom and played video games, listened to music, attempted to play music, and jammed out in my car when I was going to eat. I didn't lead an interesting life this weekend, but excuse me if I wanted to rest after a brutal week of three tests and a computer program.

I played the vidya. I mowed the lawn. I ate food. I played more vidya. I posted here. I played the vidya again. I thanked the good lord. I played the vidya online. I saw a movie. Played the vidya. Talked to people who tried to sell something. Watched tv and played the vidya.

Doesn't matter how short? Okay, then.

... ShadowFox seems thoroughly convinced that I have an XBox360 online crush.

I was supposed to go a job fair in Fort Lee today, which lasted from 10a-2p.

I got up early, dressed myself, and ended up taking the last transportation we had (because Ixz's sister hitched a ride with a friend, and my sis left me behind).

I get about 1/2 way to where I need to go (it's 10 a.m.), and there is an influx of cars...headed to the very same place! I'm in a stand-still for nearly 90 minutes, making little progress to where I need to go. I give up, turn back around and eat a pizza, signifying a crushing defeat. Maybe there will be another job fair later on...

Today I learned that pizza signifies crushing defeat. I am saddened by this.

So my interenet at home has been acting a bit flagrant as of late. And when I say as of late, I mean for the past month. And I've done the same dance with my ISP many times already. My modem quits giving my a signal, I call up, they run me through the same sh*t every time that doesn't work, the schedule a guy to come fix it, but it ends up working before the guy comes to fix it.

Apparenly the most recent guy who I talked to had enough sense to look into some option or diagnostic screen that the others haven't and have found that my modem is working fine, but the connection gets reset some thousands of times a day... which is despirately high. So he sent a guy to come out and check the lines outside. And sure enough, there's something wrong outside. But it's up on the poles and not on the box outside my appartment. So they now have to get a boomtruck up there and fix it... which they haven't done yet.

I just want internet.

@ SK - Embrace it, dude. It's all cool.

I too have some recent internet issues. Out of the blue, my 360 couldn't connect to the internet over the weekend. I thought my 360 might be to blame as many have issues but I never heard of this. So I hooked the 360 directly to the modem and nothing still. Reset the modem and all was well. Except that now I thought my router was broken. I bought a new and better router than before and hooked it all up. Same exact problem. So I call my isp figuring there may be some blocked ports or something that I don't know how to fix and they say they are all good and ran some diagnostic. Then they told me to call Xbox Support.

I didn't do that. Instead I tried to connect a laptop to my network. No problem with that, but when a second device tries to go online, it fails to connect to the internet. So I call my ISP again and they say to call the manufacturer of the laptop.

My story still doesn't have an ending.

I find it funny we both can't get on the internet but can still magically post.

If looks doesn't kill, throw a toy car!
Don't you love when a driver tries to cut off, you don't let them, and then they started insulting you? I wasn't driving that day, but when it happened, I didn't really react. I'm used to be in a car where the driver is insulting the other for reckless driving, so I just kept tried to continue my conversation on the cell phone.
The other car managed to further in front of the next line. The light turned red. I put his cra in reverse, and lined up to us. And he gave us "the look".
I'll be honest, while I was calm, I was expecting to see the guy taking a gun and shooting us. Thankfully, he didn't had one, it seems. So he threw a used diaper in a bag at us. It hit the door, then he moved forward again.
I might or might not have yelled at him at that moment. "That's a really stupid thing to do!" I might add that my comment was the mildest among the other comments between both drivers.
The light turned green. We moved forward, and that's when it hit her. It took me a few seconds to realize that other guy waited for us, and when we were lined up, he took the chance to throw a black toy car at us. We tried to cut him of, and the coward quickly drove away.
Moral of the story: If you plan on attacking someone, don't stop to give them a "death look" for too long.
The victim will have enough time to see your face and identify you. (I managed to write down the plate of his car too.)

Don't have any interesting stories...Then again, you're just looking for stories, so here's my two cents.

Lately with more free time, I've been working on rpgmaker a bit. It's been good fun. I think the part I like most is coming up with a way to solve a particular problem, and then make a post detailing everything I did to solve that problem. It's a habit I should try doing more, and with any luck, I'll continue doing just that. My development forum has more info on that.

I've also been writing more reviews on gamefaqs. I realize that most of my reviews are somewhat negative, so I'm working on writing about games I enjoy. I used to write more bad reviews because I just had a strong urge to write for those games, but I noticed I might start to look like a hyprocrite. So, reviews on games I enjoy are on the way, along with some others.

It amuses me that I just heard the ice cream truck passing, and instantaneously sprinted out of my apartment, down the stairs, and out into the street to catch it.
With absolutely no thought or plan.

I live on the 4th floor and it was already half a block away, but I hauled ass after that mofo.

The hell of it is, I don't even buy ice cream from the truck. Ever.
I don't even like ice cream.

So this weekend I broke the mold of kicking back at the house and doing hardly anything. I went over to Texas to meet a friend and help work on his car. His third car. He had the body of an automatic 1992 Honda Civic. The engine was ruined, so he pretty much just had a giant paper weight. Earlier that week, he was able to get a hold of a new engine. The engine had a standard transmition though, which means the car is getting a sex change.

I get there friday, and he already had the new engine in the cherry-picker. By the end of the day, the engine was all bolted down and good to go. Nothing was connected though, so we will have a LOT of work to do the next day.

The next day rolls around and we first get the new transmition in place. Took a while get the center console out of the car and rip out the automatic stick. But my friend was real happy after we got that stick and clutch in place. Now we tried getting all the wires, hoses, claps, and what have you all connected. Most of everything went on pretty easy, but we had a pretty hard time with the fuel line and the throttle. After the engine would final start and sit idle, we gave it a test run... and we killed it a good ways away from his house. So we got his wife to bring the truck and some chain and towed it back (By this time it was raining pretty hard. In fact, a huge storm was on the way. Tornados and all that jazz... what fun!).

Due to the storm, we had to wait till the next day to figure out what we broke. We ended up getting more gas, charging the battery, and more imporantly putting back in the axel that popped out. After making sure everything was back up to par an hour or so later, the car was actually running quiet well.

I don't know sh*t about cars, but this was rather educational.

It was my birthday yesterday, and after much deliberation I decided to overextend my means and acquire one of these friggin' nifty gizmos: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154 ... =sv_kinc_0

I sat here, contemplating this, as I downloaded book after book (my reason behind getting it was that I should always have a library at hand, for my own library has been left elsewhere and I am at a loss without it), and considered the ultimate function of it.

It's a book-sized device which allows you to have any information you need from the published world at large, allows you to connect to wikipedia for anything else, and search google for any-anything else. I came to realize that I could stumble drunk around a foreign city until hopelessly lost, search for my location and extricate myself, all the while slurring through whatever I should happen to wish to read aloud this night.
If I got in a fight and broke my arm, I could find a book which tells me how to set the bone.
If I had to deliver a hooker's baby in the back of a cab, I could find a book for it.
If I wanted to know how to make gunpower, explosives, wine, or caviar, there's a book for it.

They lied to me. I did not buy an 'Amazon Kindle'.
I bought the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

@nly - some do say that about it. there is a kindle app for the iphone so i'm biding my time to see if one comes out for mine. *hope* but i have the full use of the internet on my phone and a great wikipedia app so i'm not really complaining. i know you don't sleep and all but you might enjoy this anyway: http://blag.xkcd.com/2009/04/13/the-pur ... -laziness/

erm.. i suppose i should contribute a story now...

on thursday i lost my job. she basically said 'Ruth you are very strange and you do strange things. i cannot guarantee that you won't continue to do strange things so we cannot keep you on.' i got sacked for a series of behavioural issues ending in gross misconduct. at least some of you should know me well enough to find this funny.

Earlier today, Ixz, his mom, and I saw Star Trek (10:45 showing). Afterward, we got a bite to eat at sonic, and suddenly, we get a call from Ixz's sister, asking us to pick her up some fries from across the street from her job (Blockbuster). We give her the fries, but we are astounded to find out that there is no one parked outside, let alone inside the Blockbuster store, except Ixz's sis. Cindrella, the 60's verison is playing on the DVD player. It was a really good day. :)
