So I know I don't want to make another traditional rpg style game for RPGM3, but I want to make a new game, nothing big, just something small and entertaining. Just looking for some ideas for what direction to go with, as I'm not going for the norm here really. Comedy is hit or miss, not everyone has the same sense of humor as me, so I don't know. The one idea I have is comedy based though. Other then that I can't really think of other types, I guess there's survival, horror, and survival horror together, but I'm not sure if that's my cup of tea.

What kind of crazy idea did I have you ask? Well so far I know it stars Nicolas Cage, and he basically has to save all humanity, with other cameo appearances from random comedy actors thrown in. Sounds like crap? Probably, but I find Nicolas Cage to be downright hilarious so yeah.

That is indeed a good idea. Throw Ron Jeremey in there too.

I think you just gotta make what appeals to you.

RPGM3 is well suited for adventure type RPGs (which this sort of sounds like) but it is too serious looking and sounding. There are not many sound effects or graphics that go well with comedy and only a handful of comedic characters.

But if the content is funny and the scenery is light, it may work.

And as always, if you have fun making it, that is the real point.

I agree with a Bo about the seriousness of the content being too strong. Plus it is really hard to think of a storyline that would go with all of the elements used in the software.

Well the idea in mind isn't really to use all that much, I would simply need one town with a few characters and that's it really. So long as it's a small project, I think I can make due with the lack of options, and see what I can manage with what there is to work with in RPGM3. Hell I probably wouldn't even need the character portraits at all, trying to match portraits to real life actors is already a futile attempt.

I'm talking a very small game, that takes 30 minutes to an hour tops to complete, no battles or any of that. In terms of that scale, I don't think the seriousness of RPGM3 should hinder things too much.

If the game is short, like 30 minutes to an hour to complete, then I think you should just go for it. It shouldn't take that long to make and people are more likely to play it I would think.
