Guess the size of the hard drive.

Yes, this is a Hard Drive. I pulled it today from my very first computer. Guess the size. I'll check back in later to see if anyone has guessed correctly. I also posted a pic of the huge power supply that was in it.

500 Gigs, I'd say.

Actually, scratch that. I just found out that 500 Gigs isn't very expensive anymore. Gotta at least be 1 Terrabyte.

It was my understanding, Dray, that as computers got better, their hardware got smaller.

So by the size of that, I'm guessing 1kb.

Your logic baffled me at first (1kb at THAT size?), but then I noticed that Deeper said "first computer".

Lemme think... judging by my own age, and how it seems like amost everyone here is younger than me (this is a place full of kids, I swear...), I'll say 1GB.

It's 1 Gig. Before this, I pulled one from an old church computer that was about the same size, physically, but only had a storage capacity of 80 Megs.

Unless you are looking at the file size of the image. Because I already checked the file name, and it doesn't really say.

Ive seen the innards of OLD computers and this looks to new to be much older than 95-97. However, Given that even a TERABYTE is getting pretty small, I'd place that sucker squarely around 2000. This means that for that size of a hard drive,...Hm. ya know, I'd have to agree. That looks to be about a Gig, maybe 2.

Since it is 8 times physically larger than my 750GB drive, I would put it at about 1 petabyte.

Well if we're keeping it like that i'd have to say that since it's about 5 times larger than the bottle sitting next to me i would have to agree with staffy and put it at about 2000. millilitres.
