So recently I started playing RPGM2 because I finally got my disc to work (by standing the PS2 on its side, thanks to whoever suggested that) and I also have been playing some more RPGM3 games.

So I started wondering, which is the most enjoyable to play (as in the user created completed game)? I think we spend a lot of time focusing on why we prefer one over the others to create with. But when that brilliant creation is completed, will others enjoy playing it. There are a lot of factors that go into it and many of them are due to the differences in RPGMs themselves.

You can answer this however you'd like, but since we all know that if a game is really bad on any of them, they all are equally frustrating, boring, headache giving, etc., so I'd recommend taking good samples from each and comparing those with respect to how much you look forward to jumping in.

Well, after playing Ronin Story, I'm not looking forward to MISS trying any other RPGM3 MISS games in MISS a while. Not that I'll never play any more, but it MISS sorta ruined my MISS MISS mood.

RPGM2, I haven't really played that many games for it. From what I've played, though, it feels clunky to me.

RMXP and RMVX, maybe I'll enjoy them more if I get a controller to play them. It just doesn't feel right playing a console RPG using a keyboard.

So, definately RPGM1. Even with the sucky games, the battle system is the most fluid and speedy, and I never feel like I'm fighting with my own movement. Plus it's 2D. Gotta give it props for that. :P

You can't judge it based on a single mishap game.

Play "Raiders". Or "Ursus Quest: SOTT". Or "Series 1". I guarantee you won't be missing that often. I guar-un-tee it!

Raiders is yours, right? Alright, I'll put it on my LP list. Won't come right after Ronin Story, but only because I want to mix things up a little, show off a different RPGM. (Probably RPGM2.)

Yeah, specially seeing as the miss rate is a static game element that can not be change... maybe somehow ghetto rigged to get around, but I have yet to see it. I find Dray's comment to be very well justified.

As for myself, I also go with RPG Maker 1 as well.

@ Duel - Why are you here at a RPG MAKER site again?

For the love of my testicles! It's not a static game element.

Look. I'm gonna reiterate very slowly here. I made "Raiders". I've played it many many many times. I also played a few other games that others made. In this vast experience of playing RM3 games, I have not experienced what Dray described. Nothing even close.

So in other words, you're ignoring my vast experience and relying on Dray's single bit of experience to make a judgement. Either that or you're calling me a liar.

Don't make me download "Ronin Story" and look at it to find out what the specific problem is with it.

I don't want to argue here, but playing a few RPGM3 games isn't really "vast experience." I've played more then half the mags library including "Raiders" and the other games you've used as examples. In ANY RPGM3 game the miss rate when using the attack command is bad. Yeah Dray is over exaggerating, but there’s no getting around the fact that it’s bad. You can give the player and the enemy the same stats and the hit rate is still bad. The only way to get around it is to have a battle system that relays heavily on magic because they never miss. Hence why I completely eliminated the use of the attack command in “Evil Fantasy.â€

I'm going to request we drop the Miss discussion, now. I'm going to reserve judgement until I see how it is in Raiders, itself.

When answering this I want people to keep in mind that there is more to playing a game than the simple individual parts that make it good or bad. In other words even if one RPGM is great for this or horrible for that from a player viewpoint, it still is part of an overall game. So the question really is which game makes you go "man this is fun" or "man that game was great" even though along the way you encountered both good and bad aspects of the limitations of the given RPGM.

As to the misc. discussion, that would do well in the Perpetual Argumentation topic.
