i played this on a random whim. i loaded up rpg maker and didnt actually want to work on my game so i loaded up this game instead.

the initial concept was a bit different then i first imagined. i thought that i might be treated to a game against the computer but i suppose that was wishful thinking with rpg maker.

the game itself was a battle against a second player who i had to play as well. it was well planned, refusing to do moves that would break the engine, and realizing when someone had won. i worked very hard to try to shatter the game but i wasnt able to find even one glitch. kudos there.

there is quite a lot there other then checkers, there are about 10 other different games to play. if they are not variations of checker games out there then they are well thought up and could easily pass as checkers variants. it was more fun to play the different games then to actually play checkers itself.

the biggest gripe i had besides having a very boring rpg maker background music (no effort to make the music even a little bit different then default, though you could change the music), was the load times. when you get to the point where you select the stage, it loads up the new scenario data and once you decide to quit then it loads up the first data and so on. the second load time was unnecessary, it could of easily been duplicated onto each of the scenario data to drastically cut down on the load times. rather then have to reload the data constantly, youd only need to load new data when you got to a part that absolutely requires it.

overall i enjoyed the game but probally wont play it again. i really dont have any need for a checkers game. though, i think a chess game wouldnt be so bad - though that would take a rediculess amount of coding.

I wasn't even aware there were other modes besides checkers.

I remember playing this. There are many modes in there that are fun if you're playing with someone else. If not, then it is boring. But the game shouldn't be knocked for that.

I actually did review it.

The review, however, is old and not formatted for our current thing.
