Comes out in one week. Everyone have their preorders ready?

GameInformer gave it a 7 of 10. The reviewer hated the intro and from what he said I totally agree. But he says the game makes up for it very well once you get past the first three hours of gameplay. They also loved the battle system and skills, but in the review, no comparisons were really made to any of the previous titles.

Ready and waiting. Finished up SO:SE the other night too.

And 7 out of 10? That's not bad, seeing JRPGs usually don't get all that great of grades these days. Seriously, when's the last time you saw a 10 on a RPG?

Okay, I can't take it anymore. You slow people need to hurry up and get on the ball. I'm about 20 hours in and there's some cool sh*t I want to talk about. So instead, I'm going to spoiler some things that I think are just awesome storyline wise.

[spoiler]I just got my 6th party member... and she's a chick with cat ears and a tail. At first, I was like... oh that's cool. Until I found out the next planet I was going to. Roak... Wait, isn't that? It is! It's the planet you start off on in Star Ocean 1! Roak people all have tails like that too, just like the main character in SO1, Roddick Farrence. How did I not make the connection the second I saw her? *fails* And what's even more awesome: There's also Featherfolk like Ioshua from SO1 too. I'm not sure if one joins your party, but I totally hope so. The first town I'm visiting has one of the original town themes from SO1 too. I can't figure out if the town is actually one of them from SO1 because I can't get anyone to tell me the name of the town I'm in... ah well.[/spoiler]

Obviously, I'm quite enjoying this game. Well done so far, Sqeenix.

That's awesome. But wait, [spoiler]have you even played SO1 yet? If not, then it would have had less of an impact on you around that part.[/spoiler] Which kind of sucks.

I've made it as far as searching for [spoiler]Sarah after finding out that big plot about the Seeds of Hope and what Crowe, Reimi, and Edge have in common.[/spoiler] Which, btw, is a MUCH better storyline than Star Ocean 3's Matrix rip-off story.

[spoiler]Yes, I have played SO1 before, so I got all the references. Did you catch Eleyna Farrence? (The main character of SO1 is Ratix Farrence.)[/spoiler]

Yeah, I did. Though I haven't met her yet. They've mentioned her a few times and I'm sure I'll meet up with her soon.

Btw, a little strategy I'd suggest using would be AS SOON as you get your hands on the critial skill, put it on Edge and max it out. In battle, all you have to do is spam A and you'll eventually fill up the bonus board with all blue EXP boost. That's all the EXP of a battle plus 140% more. Very useful... Also, I've found a "No Guard" and put that on him too. At max level, you can't be knocked down period (and your bonus board can't be broken) unless over 10% of your total HP was taken away in a single swipe.

Okay, I've finished the game, and I'm at the end of the first post-game dungeon (the cave of the seven stars). I'm around level 160 and am using Edge, [spoiler]Arumat, Meracle, and Sarah[/spoiler]. After I bet GC, I'll have most of the items for some of the best equipment before I hit up the Wandering Dungeon. Though, I'm going to have to go half way through that dungeon before I can get the rest of the materials which consist of Philosipher Stones and such. But with the Duplication skill and a place to be able to mine for magic clay that respawns, I should be able to get everyone up to par to deal with EQ.
