Bolded for truth. This topic is not solely aimed at anybody. Nobody here, and no one anywhere. This is a way for me to let off some steam and have a little fun at the same time. Put into the Creativity forum because it's creative. Remember, bolded for truth.

Hey there. I'm the guy you keep looking over.

I'm selling stuff on craigslist. Videogames, to be exact.

Here's where I would post a link to what I'm selling. Except I can't. The page I made will be deleted and renewed. Why? Because you jerkwads won't buy my stuff, hence I have to bump it back up to try and get some exposure.

I've been trying to sell some videogames on Craigslist for about a week, and while I've had many offers, nobody has bought anything from me yet. I'd like to pose a question:

What
The
Cluck?

Now if I was selling some sh*tty demos or old sports games, I would understand. But I'm selling Final Fantasy 8 (sealed, to be exact. Not that you uncivilized junkies would care), Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II, Fuggin Chrono Trigger on SNES, Tetris & Dr. Mario, and all sorts of quality titles that you are allowing to pass you by.

And I admit, there are some games in there you likely haven't heard of, like Gallop Racer and Grimgrimore. But maybe if you used your brain cells a little, you'd look up these titles and find great reviews. But no, I'm sure that's too difficult for you, and you'd rather play the newest Madden or some stupid FPS.

But what about Final Fantasy 2 & 3? Tetris Attack? Xenogears? Harvest Moon? Rogue Galaxy? Guilty Gear?

Do you see what I'm trying to tell you?

Now, I know it's difficult to get ahold of this concept, so I'll try and type slowly so you get it. These are all rare, quality titles. There's not a game that I'm selling that isn't somewhat rare, like Sonic Adventure 2 on Dreamcast or Saga Frontier 2. I even am selling some super rare title like Clayfighter: Sculptor's Cut on N64.

"Wah! But 1ce, your prices are too high!"

That might be a legitimate arguement, if only for one thing. This is Craigslist we're talking about here. If you have a brain in your skull, you'd realize I'm trying to pay bills here, so I'm willing to take a loss and lower my prices. Hell, one guy asked $35 for Vanguard Bandits, and I agreed when I had the price at $50. I was willing to take a 15 dollar price drop for a top-notch, rare as hell game. And then he never responded back. Lovely.

You might be comfortable and happy playing on your what's-it-called playing some game that has no value that you're perfectly happy with. But if you want some REAL games like Katamari Damancy or Parasite Eve, you might want to give me a buzz. I can help you get out of that hole you call gaming and help you see the light.

Until then, please enjoy your Madden or whatever you play. Just don't complain to me when you're paying for next year's version.

In my defense, I hadn't looked at your Craigslist topic, yet.

Actually, that's a great idea. I think I will.

That's what I like about you SF. You carefully read over every word in a topic, and neatly (with great care), express your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions all in the fewest possible words.

And one may wonder..."Why am I, a great gamer, talking to someone like him?". A good question. See, I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that SF enjoys playing Tales games. A quality, rare, extensive series. I see that when potenial knocks at SF's door, he answers, gives a pat on the back and invities potenial in for a cup of tea. Not like anyone else with half a brain lives around me who understands this concept, but SF does.

You see, most redneck gamers are too busy playing their Madden and yearly sports game to recognize when a potenial excellent buy, such as Xenogears, pops up IN THEIR COMMUNITY (honestly, how often does this happen?). But no, I'm sure playing the same game year after year works for them. I just can't help but pity those who don't know any better.

And what am I, a gamer who knows the concept of value, to do? I recieved an e-mail asking why my prices were so high.

Excuse me?

Only a gamer would be able to see that I'm not selling crap. No shiz. All the games I'm selling are high quality, and therefore carry the highest price to match the excellent household and owner they came from. And a REAL gamer would see this, one who thrives on playing the highest quality entertainment.

Alas, none like that live near me.

And so the mighty fall. I feel much like the company Working Designs. They strove to bring the best stuff out to America, and since their prices 'were too high', they fell to the ground, and haven't gotten up since. I fear that I may be walking the same road. Just because most people can't determine quality, they overlook it for something they can 'afford'.

Alas, as long as the junk budget games go through, me and my excellent game collection will be overshadowed, overlooked by the appeal of price.

Nay, I say! Have you never heard of the concept, "You get what you pay for?" This applies to everything, including the world of videogames. Is everyone so nearsighted they can't see the brilliant sparkle at the end of the tunnel waiting for them?

Perhaps one day a riskful youth or some wise sage will be able to understand and see eye to eye with me. Alas, until that day, I must retire. I have to bump my topic so it gets noticed next to the guy selling demo disks for five bucks.
Hey, you asked for it
Oh. well. :rolleyes

Since he isn't aiming this at anybody, just in general to let off steam, then there is nowhere to leave.

But even if there were somewhere to leave, he could always just stay and call people jerkwads. That could be a sufficient alternative to leaving and that is what he would be doing and anyone who doesn't like it could always just... :lol .

No, seriously, he's letting off steam and not offending anybody. Probably the title refers to the NOT REAL GAMERS of Craigslist.

@Anyone who doesn't understand

This is not directed at Mag members. At least that's not what I got the vibe of.

@The topic -

Yeah, sucks for you. I'd help out and take some stuff off your hands but I already either have everything you've mentioned for played it into the ground.

Vanguard Bandits ftw. Andrewnator!

Why can't more people like you live near me? Why?

I swear.

I mean, I recently put up a post for Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 2 and 3 up for sale, figuring it would sell out in no time. Only one person in 3-4 days was interested!

Alright, I'm convinced. I hate you all.

Why? Let me tell you why.

I had a copy of GTA: San Andreas. This particular copy had the absolute worst scratches I've ever seen in a video game CD. So many label scratches that I would pronounce it dead. For some miraclous unknown reason, it worked just fine. Knowing I couldn't sell it, I put up an ad to give it away.

One and a half hours later, I had five people who wanted it. I had to take down the ad I was getting so much traffic. Two hours later it was out of my hair forever.

Tell me, PLEASE, someone explain this to me. Someone would prefer a piece of crap to something of, I don't know, QUALITY?

I mean, seriously. On one end, we have the highest quality gaming available, great games of exceptional quality. On the other hand we have a horrendous piece of hell that barely works and everyone eats it up.

JUST BECAUSE IT'S FREE?

I swear, has ANYONE heard of the old saying "You get what you pay for?". I'm guessing not, since instead of diamonds most prefer dirt.

This is depressing beyond imagine. So, what am I to learn from this? Do people prefer cheap garbage over great titles? Perhaps I should change into a seller that offers terrible quality items and bargain prices...

NO!

My products, my selection of games I buy...they are held to the highest standard. I just don't buy any old games: I hand pick every game in my collection based carefully on reviews, pricing, and quality. You would be hard pressed to find "any old game" within my gaming cabinet.

Nay, I say! Nay!

I must do my best, hold my head up high, and never look down towards the garbage. I'm a gamer selling products to gamers, some of the most cynical and picky audiences around. I shall hold my products to the highest degree, and strive for excellence, accuracy, and perfection.

Watch out Spokane; here I come.

Hey, if you get another free copy of GTA, can you float that my way?

Well, if you must know, I am interested in Zelda DS, and I even price compared and saw you're selling your new copy for less than what Amazon is. But I'm looking at all these other games I have, and all the not-gaming stuff I have to do, and I figured that I don't have the time for it.
