Its kinda sad we accomplished just about every single limitation in the game, and yet I barely see any RPGM2 work anymore, Its almost a lost cause it seems.

I loved RPGM2 and I started working on some things for it but RPGM3 came along and I happily decided to focus on that gamemaking wise but I want to play community games on RPGM2 but I can't get my disc to work anymore. Any ideas on how I might get the PS2 to read the disc without taking it apart? I haven't tried standing it on its side as was once suggested and I am afraid of weighing the disc down with tape unless that really works.

Do you have a bulky or a Thin PS2? If you have a Thin PS2 putting it on its side should do the trick, but bulky should read it well.

I will play RM2 games, but I don't have much of an interest in development. It's pretty hard to do.

I don't create with RM2, but I do play. I'm probably not going to really mess around with it till I'm finished with everything I want to do with RM1.

But I'd say that the only reason working with any maker is a lost cause is if whoever is working on it doesn't finish or doesn't learn anything in the process.

I agree. As a matter of fact, although I only technically finished one thing with RPGM2, my other test projects were incredibly fun ways to review my skills in programming from C64 back in the day, and has helped me considerably ace RPGM3 programming.

I play around with RPGM2. One day or another, I'll use it to make something, and maybe get to know how to use it. It's so complex that it's kinda overwhelming.

You've seen my video. Eventually I'll get working on RPGM2. But first thing's first, gotta finish Slayers' Reign.

It is true that it is hard to play. But it is a very good feeling to accomplish something that is hard to do. In fact I'm currently working on a game for RPG Maker 2 called Sword of Vegeance. Right now it is still in the development stage. So there are still people working on it.

I have a game just about finished except for one glaring detail....I can't get experience to work. The battle is won and the game tells you that you have earned X gold and Y experience. Yet, when I check the status screen, you still have the default experience. The gold is correctly updated. I checked the variables and the one that tallies experience earned is correctly updated yet it never updates the actual experience values. So, it is impossible for anyone to advance in the game. Anyone have a clue as to how I can fix this?

Open up a fresh file, start with the easy mode to load up all the presets, change to advance mode, then search through the battle scripts to see how the system does it by default.
