Why do you think I'm trying to gather opinions? ;)

As a side note, I also happen to really, really like the 360's controller. Most comfortable controller I've ever held.

Good point.

And yes, I also like the 360 controller, except I hate having to deal with batteries or a battery pack for wireless control.

Actually, I like PS's And I guess that's because they've never changed though all the generations of consoles. And I kind of think the 360 controller is a bit too bulky. Nintendo... eh... Let's just say that I really didn't like the Gamecube controller... but if a Wii game has Gamecube controller support, I'll usually use that instead of the Wiimote. And the 64's trident was kind of a mess too...

@ Bo - http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Play-Cha ... 787&sr=8-4

I got two of them. Makes them as convieniant as the PS3. If it's low, just slam it in the USB port and keep playing (something you can't do with the Wii).

@Lantis

Thanks. The only thing that concerns me though is whether or not the battery will lose its capacity to store charge eventually like AA rechargeable batteries. I know the charge kit doesn't cost much. I just don't want to have to keep buying rechargeable battery packs, in the same way that my AA battery charger works fine but the rechargeable batteries are almost dead in storage capacity after using them enough.

I've had them since I got my 360 and they seem to still seem to hold a charge just as long as when I got them... but I take extra care not to charge them when they are full... I think that's one of the key factors in making their life-span shorter.

Is there any specific advantage to getting one of the higher-Gig 360s over the lower ones besides more hard drive space?

No... as long as a hard drive is there, all your options are open. But you might wnat to consider getting as big as possible seeing that now you can copy games to your hard drive. Makes them load a bit faster, never have to worry about the condition of the disc or disc read erros, and runs SO much quieter. The 360's CD-rom is a loud mo fo.

Most games are around 6 gigs.

I haven't paid attention lately but with respect to the models that have the higher gig drives it used to be that the higher gig one (the Elite) was the only one available in Black and it may have came with a battery charger (I think but I'm not sure). If you are asking about those things, I don't know the answer but there may be differences. Anyone else know about the recent models?

Well I may go with the smaller memory regardless. That $50 saved could be spent on a game.

I myself am happy with the 20 gig. But if you are the type of person that likes to purchase TV shows, rent more than one movie at a time, keep downloaded game videos and demos and install your games, you may want to invest in the bigger drive.

Oh yeah, you can also buy classic XBOX, arcade, and community games, all of which take space too.

Well, there's always external storage solutions if I need them. Also, as far as downloaded content goes, does it remember stuff I already bought so that I don't have to pay for multiple downloads? I would assume so, as even Nintendo does that.

But of course. All three do that, actually.

Overall, I'd suggest the 360. And I hate that I can't say PS3... I totally would if they didn't give up their previously exlusive titles of Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, ect. Pretty much everything that Sony held dead is now also on 360 (I think though that God of War 3 will be PS3 only... good job not dropping that one too, Sony).

Just wanting to say, Resident Evil wasn't exactly Sony exclusive before this, and it is impossible for Sony to lose God of War 3.

Overall, I like PS3 better but not necessarily for gaming reasons. Though I have yet to play any game that is worse on PS3 than 360. (And, well, MGS4 is one of the best games this gen so far).

So RE5 was aready announced to the 360 before the PS3 was even released? I somehow doubt that. The original reason I picked up a PS3 was because of the exclusives that were originally PS2. And at the time, xbox had never seen an RE title.

RE5 was announced for the 360 about 5 months before it's release, and about a year and a half before PS3 was released.

Two things needed to happen for this to occur:
* Xbox 360 needed to come down to $250 (that way, the extra $50 spent on a game would feel more like the old days of pack-ins)
* There needed to be five games that interested me.

The price happened. The games happened. Me buying happened.

I got Batman: Arkham Asylum and Left 4 Dead. Eventually I'll also get Ghostbusters, Lost Odyssey, and Blue Dragon.

I can't play L4D with you guys, yet. Not unless Nintendo's Wi-Fi adaptor works with the 360. :P

Also, Wal-Mart skrewed me over. Went to the dreaded place because I had some gift cards. Arkham Asylum has this sticker on it that says Wal-Mart buyers get some special armor. Except, it's not a sticker. It's actually printed on the box art. And so, I've got this blue Wal-Mart thing printed on my copy, to mock me for all time.

I'm also a little disappointed that it doesn't support Xbox 1 controllers. Especially after finding out that they made a slight redesign to the 360 controllers, and now they're not as comfy in my hands. (Was better when the 360 controller was essentailly just a white Controller S.)

Congrats good sir... it's always awesome to broaden your scope of possible games. Now, you can play most any game that'll be released. PS3 honestly doesn't have a huge collection of must have exclusives, so awesome stuff.

Good luck though getting that wireless 360 adapter, it's way more expensive than ANYONE should have to pay for wireless (wireless already being a downgrade to a network connection IMHO... but we've been over my oppinion of wireless to hard wire connections). Also, to play online with people, you have to pay something like 2 bucks a month for Xbox Live. Though it's a 1 time yearly charge of $50. So with the $99 wireless adapter with it, it may take a bit more cash than expected to get online. Or you could just save the ben and run a wire to it.

Well, it came with a cable. Not long enough to reach my modem, though, and I don't have a router anyway.

Actually, I just remembered, I have a rather lengthy cable that I used to use for my PS2. So all I need is a router.

Wow, I heard horror stories about Xbox 360 games and their small text, but I didn't think they were true. Seems I have to lean closer to my TV to get a good look at what it's saying. And people said RPGM2's text was small...
