So far I've mixed feelings about it. Maybe it's just because it's on a high-resolution computer monitor, but the sprite looks better zoomed in than zoomed out. I'm also a little worried the pixel-wide legs will disappear in the saturation of a TV screen. Mayhaps I should also give the shading more contrast. I'll probably just finish this and see how it looks when I'm done.

actually, in .jpg I hardly can see the legs even zoomed in. But once again, I find your pixel art top notch. Seriously, I don't think I could ever get that much detail into such a small picture.

I assume that two pixel wide lone on the far right is the current pallet you are using? That's pretty leet.

im not sure what its ment to be. i dont see any eyes and the legs, if thats what they are, look way too small. detail unfortunately is something that gets lost in rpg maker sprites. looking at the sprite in regular mode is your indication to how well the sprite is. no mater how great it looks zoomed in, if the player cant see it while playing then it might as well not be there.

At quick glance I thought it was a winged female but now it is clearly an insect but I think it looks more like a hornet or a wasp.

Yep, I don't see any legs, but it does seem like a bee.

Yeah, it's based off the hornet monster RPGM1 has. I just wanted her to be a bee, and so I'm calling her a bee and keeping the sprite consistant. At least, after I figure out the exact color pallette. The one I'm using now is just a base pallette. And yes, that's the current pallette on the side there.

Wait, what is the image doing in .jpg format? The save was .bmp. Must be auto-converted by Photobucket.

I'll have to see what I can do about the legs. But considering it's a bug, and not meant to be mansized, I'm worried that making the legs wider so as to actually be visible might result in the bee looking musclebound. The eyes, on the other hand, I would've expected to be easier to spot. They're the red things on the sides of its head.

Also, YAY, my rimshot emote finally got used!

scale is the key. fat legs is fine as long as they are short and proportionate to the body. i see the resemblance to the bee monster pic in rpg maker, and i think its a cool idea to have a bee sprite. im currently trying to make a few sprites to match some monsters but im having minimal luck.

Oh, now I get it. It has shoulderblades for some reason.
It looks a lot like a bee now, only with shoulderblades.

I think I'm missing something here, but man, bees don't have legs.

Shoulderblades? *looks* I don't see it. Although I do see that I goofed when I was fiddling with the background color. Lost her pincer-teeth. And yes, bees do have legs. I might have to do a bit of artistic liberty if I make the legs wider, though. As close as the legs are right now, making them wider would clump them together so you wouldn't be able to tell them apart very well. Although I just looked at the RPGM1 monster graphic, and it appears I'm a little off anyway. The monster graphic has four wings, and I can't tell where its legs are. :P
