When a man loves only one woman, marries her, and remains faithful to her?

or

When a married man falls so in love with another woman that he leaves his wife for the other woman?

Also:

When a woman loves a man who loves only her and who commits to her for life?

or

When a woman loves a man in spite of the fact that he will not commit to her?

First you must ask yourself, what is love?

Is there a difference at all between your options, Bo?
Seems to me the second dude just got it wrong the first time.

Well that seems to depend on your perspective. Are you saying that a man cannot get it right by marrying the only woman that he loves but then falls so much more in love with another woman that he leaves the first woman, not because he got it wrong before, but because he is getting it more right now?

But my question can be directed to two different guys. In the first case guy one is being romantic by being true to his heart, committing to and taking care of his woman like a traditional good man would, but guy two is being romantic by not letting tradition prevent him from finding even greater love, being true to his heart, and going for the one he loves the most.

I guess my quick answer is that guy one is more romantic if you listen to music in the Ionian mode and guy two is more romantic if you listen to music in the Aeolian mode.

Wait... what?

I'm just saying perhaps man 2 loves his lover as much as man 1 loves his wife, and thus they can be just as romantic.

Now if you're asking if there's something intrinsically romantic about marrying or leaving married person, then I say no there isn't. ¬¬

If this is a relativity thing... then what's the point in asking?

I am starting from the point of view that there really isn't anything intrinsically or inherently "romantic". That "romantic" is a designation of the mind applied as one sees the world and from that point I am seeking if anyone is thinking non-traditionally from the kinds of norms that many of us have encountered. I am especially challenging the females because I believe that a lot of females "want" a guy to be "romantic", when from a perfectly reasonable point of view that could mean that he takes her because that is where his heart is and then he leaves her because that is where his heart is. Some woman would prefer this because of the dramatic version of love involved (akin to those who listen to music in Aeolian mode) and others wouldn't EVEN RECOGNIZE this as romantic because they are limited to a different single modal mindset.

I am asking if all of you can appreciate the differences in what it means to be romantic or are you familiar only with the "feel good", "preserve society" designation of romance?

I vote for the first option of each. The second is just a marriage that is likely to not be good.

Romance is a shared sensation of your circumstance. If either one of those scenarios gives you that passion, it's romantic, and I've known people given to either, even a few who got romantic over both.
