I've got the money to choose one (thanks largely due to Christmas). I don't want to skew your answers, so I won't say what interests me about each system for now.

I don't want to really bash any of the systems so I recommend the one you find most interesting.

Sit on the money for awhile. Soon you'll get ansey (anxious) and you'll find yourself buying the one you want most.

Overall, I'd suggest the 360. And I hate that I can't say PS3... I totally would if they didn't give up their previously exlusive titles of Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, ect. Pretty much everything that Sony held dead is now also on 360 (I think though that God of War 3 will be PS3 only... good job not dropping that one too, Sony). Also, playing with a few of us online would be a definate plus. I've had more fun on my 360 with Ix and the guys than I did with any single player title on the system.

Basically though, anything you've ever wanted on PS3 is PROBABY on 360 as well... and the 360 has a greater online user base and is significantly cheaper.

BUT... the PS3 is highly useful if you get your hands on the older backwards compatible models. And if you get the memory card converter, you've got yourself RPG Maker 1, 2, and 3 all working on one system which can also store memory cards.... I find this VERY useful. PS3 does also have a few titles that I enjoy though. Disgaea 3, Uncharted, and soon God of War 3. Warhawk was okay, but not great (read: ITS AIGHT). But from what I hear, in the later years, the PS3's going to make some kind of come-back. But I'm skeptical...

That leaves the PSP. The PSP does have some awesome titles. Valkerie Profille (a PS1 game that's over $100 to $600 new... <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00004WMQB/sr=8-3/qid=1231777080/ref=olp_tab_new?ie=UTF8&coliid=&me=&qid=1231777080&sr=8-3&seller=&colid=&condition=new">don't believe me?</a>). Then there's some must haves like the Megaman X remake... and we are talking like FF3/4 remake. 3D graphic upgrades and the works. The remake for FFT is also just blissfully wonderful... as well as the "OMG you must own this game if you have a PSP" Star Ocean: First Departure.

And not to mention the soon to be released (I hope) Start Ocean 2: The Second Story remake. Then there are a few more titles like God of War: Chains of Olympus and Final Fantasy: Crisis Core... and Remakes of Final Fantasy 1 and 2 that are just as good as the remakes of 3 and 4 on the DS... just not in 3D graphics.

But a huge value of the PSP comes from modding it (at least for me). Getting it to run apps that allow emulation of games. I was playing a portable version of Chrono Trigger long before CT:DS ever came out. Hell, if you DID finish that SMB2 rom hack you had... you could put it on your PSP as well.

But that's generally about it. Hope that helps...

I didn't have a PS3 then so I didn't pay too much attention.

Get a ps3, there are a lot of exclusives coming out and there are great games for it. You have to check out Valkyria Chronicles and the upcoming killzone 2 that everyone claimed it was prerendered.

While I don't own any of these systems, I would say 360. Like mentioned above, anything on ps3 is also on 360, and the 360 has a bigger library of games. For me it also has a couple exclusives like Tales of Vesperia and Banjo-Kazooie.

Why would I want to choose a system with a stronger library of games over a system without? One is doing well and the other hasn't. For someone like me who isn't biased based on either company, the choice is clear: 360.

Thats a bit fanboyish. I mean anything on the ps3 isn't on the 360. I can name about 15 games or 20 that aren't on the 360 that are exclusively on the ps3.

God of war 3 is coming out as well. I mean saying the ps3 doesn't have a strong library is false. That was in 2006 and halfway through 2007. This console has released many great titles through the months especially online through the psn store. There is a lot of variety to go around, there's a ton of games that I haven't even listed yet. Who doesn't love little big planet and it's vibrant community with a worthwhile collection of levels to check out. It's quality over quantity, you can have many games and not too many people play them. The online for both systems are strong, you will not be disappointed if you play online with both consoles either.

I'm not being a fanboy. I'm trying to look at the facts.

The 360 has a bigger library. The 360 has sold more. These are facts. I'd rather have a system with a better pedigree than a system which always has these great 'upcoming' games.

I admit that I have a 360, but @Agentsix, is that really your list of exclusive games that make the PS3 worth getting? I wouldn't get it for that list of exclusives, but I guess the question is would Draygone?

The problem is, I don't really know much of what's on any system. I can name four games on the PSP that interest me: Mega Man Powered Up, Metal Gear Ac!d, Popolocross (or whatever the RPG was that Agetec brought us), and Ratchet & Clank.

If I got a 360, I'd most likely try out Banjo-Kazooie. It sounds nothing like a B-K game, but as long as I own the system, why not? There's also Blue Dragon, and if that game-making tool Duelpro brought up is any good, I might give it a shot as well.

There might be other games I might like on each system. I don't really know, I've been paying almost no attention to what games have been coming out.

Why are you in a rush to get a new system if you don't even know any titles you want to play? I would definitely sit on the cash until you are ready.

Is the game making tool XNA because if so, I think you have to buy a separate subscription to that which might be pricey ($80?, $100?) but you might be able to make community games and sell them on XBOX Live. I don't know any of the details though.

Sold more doesn't have anything to do with the games. Fact to be told, ps3 has great games, has sold more in 2 years than the xbox 360, and has great upcoming games that are about a month or so released. Besides that you can play the rest of the other games. We can't take opinions as "Facts". Every console has a flop, ps3 has lair and haze. While 360 has too human and some would say Banjo Kazooie because it doesn't play anything like the first two. Sales don't have anything to with that if people weren't playing the games period. $200 console with a $100 hard drive because the arcade doesn't come with one. Besides the cheap hardware it's pretty obvious that a bigger library doesn't mean much if its all shooters, a couple of rpg's and fewer variety. And the thing with the XNA(which I'm a part of for the next 10 months) its nothing like rpg maker or anything like that. You have to know some sort of code or 3D software program to be able to make your games. You would actually have to buy a license to be able to publish and transport that game to xbox live arcade after it gets approved through Microsoft. This is a good thing if you just want to make some money as a small time developer.

At the very least, if these great games are upcoming, that is all the more reason to wait and confirm. Has anyone ever heard of a game dissapointing? So if one waits, confirms, and then chooses based on actual intelligence (in the knowledge based sense) rather than hope, hype, or speculation, they can always opt in or out. If you buy a system for games that aren't even out yet, of course you are going to justify that it was worth buying the system by playing the exclusives even if the exclusives dissapoint. Otherwise you'd have to admit that you threw your money away. You can always buy later if you save your money. But than again, the PS3 models seem to get less attractive the longer you wait (i.e. you can't use the NEWER budget model to play RPGMs or is it any new PS3? I forget.).

Well there are a good list of pretty good games so waiting for them won't be much of a problem. When Ice said that the xbox 360 has whatever the ps3 has that is simply not true. So Tekken 6, DMC4 and FFXIII went to the 360. Its not like it won't be played on the ps3 as well. The exclusive games is really what sets them apart, the multiplatforms are really just mostly been shooters, a couple of survival horrors, fighting games and such. Gameplay is the same on both platforms. If you like platform games and one that has endless levels that you can play online check out some videos of little big planet.

Sadly, some of the multi-platformer games do work out better on the 360. Fallout 3 is a good example. Looks better and even seems less buggy. Not to mention downloadable content which may never be seen on the PS3 (unless they pull something like the Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition.) Doesn't make the game any less fun, though. I've played through the game like three times now, almost immediately after the other. Which is unheard from me. Both the PS3 and 360 have quite a few good games on them. All depends on the kind of stuff you want. If you are more into RPGs, you're better off with PS3. 360 has a few good ones around, of course, but PS3 has a good selection... along with quite a few action titles. 360 is best known for shooters and action based games. Alot of those action games are also on the PS3, though. Sorry if I'm not being of much help. Oh and as much as I like my PSP, you probably are better off not getting one. There are some good games on it, but I can't think of many new titles that are coming to it that look any good (excluding the Star Ocean 2 remake.)

If I was you, Draygone, I'd check the game lists for every system you're interested in buying, and then pick which games on which sstems you'd like to play. Then pick whichever system you want by that.

I did the same thing when deciding between DS and PSP, and wasn't disappointed by my decision by choosing like that.

As a side note, I also happen to really, really like the 360's controller. Most comfortable controller I've ever held.
