Just wondering, how exactly do you animate characters using the RPGC program?

This is the character size:
Character = 72 x 96 pixels, color depth: 16, save in 16-colors bitmap (4-Bits)

But, in order to animate, you need more than one frame obviously.:p

So do you slam all of your frames into that space? make more than one?

If so, I'm just curious as to where the grid divisions are.

Two, it really sucks not being able to save in the right format from Photoshop.:(

Yes, you need to cram them all in. If you load a RM sprite in Anime Maker, you'll see in which order you need to organize them.

I guess each frame is 24 x 32 pixels. (That's what you get if you divide it by 3)

You're the man Guar.:)

I have RPG Maker, I have my dex drive... but I don't have my PS memory cards with me, so I'm trying to at least work on graphics.:D

Now just to work on using colors somewhat effectively despite the save limit.

EDIT:

Booyah! Got it. Photoshop had a nice option tucked away. I can see why, since it'd consider that format so outdated.:p

top 3 panels are for down, bottom 3 for up, middle 3 for left (right is just a mirror image of the same panels).

Quite excited, and I got it.:)

I got flowers blowing in the wind. Perrrrfect.:D

-Though, what color background makes it transparent? >_>

I tested it in-game thanks to ePS, but trying black and white backgrounds, those show up along with the flower.

the top color is the transparent one. you have to set the background to transparency for it to register that. you may need to edit it in anime maker after if it doesnt work out.

Is this all done in the game? I'm also confused about what ya mean by "top color".>->

Sorry, I'm just generally slow.

What he means is, in anime maker, there's a color selection that's vertical, and on the top look like two black color choices. The first (or top) selection is what you use to make something transparent. The second choice is black.

That was my guess, but I never imagined it was that simple. :lol

Thanks!

I'd like to make note of a glitch for imported graphics, whether you use Animé Maker or RPGC. The bottom-most and right-most line of pixels in each frame for some reason get cut off in-game.

Also, the transparent background color counts as one of the 16 colors, leaving you with 15 of your choosing.

Hey, where did you find that sprite? Is there someplace I can find all of RPGM 1's default sprites?

Yeah, but it's easier to edit them on the computer. Is there someplace I can find them online?

RPGC does work the other way. Just save the sprites to your memory card and upload them to your computer.

Yeah, that's how I got them. I was actually thinking on getting all of them. (But that would take a good while) Currently I have the 3 on my sig and another one.

RPGC is still one of the most useful tools used in using RM1. I wouldn't even be using custom sprites at all if it wasn't for RPGC. Yeah, I hate Anime Maker THAT much...
