Well, it's certainly no RPGT4, but I'll accept this. :P

Oh, great. Now Slayers' Reign will HAVE to be finished.

Anyway, I think the pages could stand to be enlarged a bit. I had to squint closely to see what the "detailed game info" was saying. Then again, it does sorta make advertising your game like that all the more unappealing. :P

It is very good motivation. I actually appreciated that all the content in the description of my "Next Game" seems to show familiarity with my studio/previous game with everything spelled correctly, etc.

I have been wanting to get at least one image up for my last game (but I have to figure out how to get it all done with other people's software/hardware) and this is good motivation (and a decent reminder) that I should do that.

BUT I think the article somewhat chastized the community for not advertising enough and while I admit, advertisement would spark interest that otherwise would not be there the real problem is either that people are not playing games that are out there including the one's well advertised, or they are not posting feedback in the designated posts of the studios that made the games or they are not updating the completed works cards that I orginally created. In other words, how do we developers know that our advertising is working. What is our feedback mechanism?

Mwahaha, trapped!

Anyway, I much liked the digest as well. Sorry I wasn't there to help out a bit. I really think you got the point across about makers needing (not just wanting) feedback and acknowledgement for their work.

Personally, I know I can do better in the "leave feedback to others" part.
When "Magpathy" hit me, I also stopped bothering checking on other RM games, but hopefully 2009 will be different. :)

Indeed, I feel trapped seeing as how Arcadia Mania got mentioned.

But hey, it gave me motivation too. I liked it.

Just for the record, I noted mainly the projects that had the latest amount of work done on them. Not to shoehorn y'all in. Work on what you want. :p

Thanks for mentioning PNG and the thing I'm working on even though you didn't have much information about it. It means a lot to me to have your support, Ix; and just mentioning it in an article is a way of showing support. I think it was perfect. I thank you.

I don't feel threatened or goaded by it. If anything, I feel motivated and welcomed by your show of support.

The issue also gave me some new insights into what others have been working on, all wrapped up in a nice and neat presentation. Kudos! Very nice work.

ive been debating the issue of advertising and game response for a while now. since ive release my demo, ive had only lantis play and respond to it. even though there is close to 50 downloads, not one person has comments on my game, not even to tell me there is a bug or some other issue.

ive been plugging my game for 10 years so i dont think advertising is the problem. i cant decide if its lack of player base or just laziness for response. i have my money on laziness.

im just going to keep making my game and hope that someone decides its good enough to warrant a comment.

@Karr Lord of Chaos,

Where should they respond? Did you create a topic in your studio and if so, why aren't people responding?

I started playing, but I couldn't handle the glitch. Running around as nothing got me frusterated. I stopped playing so I wouldn't get so angry I wouldn't come back. Now I'm waiting for the fixed version. PS3 format.

I have every intention of playing your game Karr. I will get around to it and post my thoughts on it.
