I haven't heard a peep out of anyone about this game, why? I know why Tanuki doesn't play it but still...

For dumb people: Animal Crossing City Folk.

More of the same, just as Guar mentioned. I'll keep my Gamecube version, thanks.

Ask me again when they release one where you can actually be one of the animals.

Well it has to be kind of the same...I mean you can't mess with the formula.

From what I heard they actually did:

1st:
It seems that you can use your wii avatar (mii?) in the game instead of the pre-assigned human models. I think this totally detracts.
2nd:
Also it looks like the camera isn't locked from above on the town. I don't know if the whole game is that way or just during special events, but part of the greatness of Animal Crossing was the way it kept your focus in town, within the community. If you have view of the horizon, even a little, you are going to want to start escaping (and I don't mean visiting other similar towns, but breaking out of the game world because you will seem trapped instead of invovled. I'm not kidding about this.
3rd:
I don't think the city is a good place for Animal Crossing even if it is not the only place in the game. As maybe the biggest city fan at the Mag, the whole fun for me was living in my small town out in the woods and never thinking about the city. Instead of a human focused into looking into a small town, you can have a mii playing as a yuppie in a city, unhappy with the environment, wondering what is happening over the horizon. It goes from genuine quality to repititve mass consumption.
I think the Mii thing is a makeover you can do at a shop. So it's completely optional. I think it's a nice idea, but I don't think I'd be using it.

And the city is actually a place you can go and visit to shop. But you can't even go there with a friend, so you'll end up just checking it to see what's new on shops.

Still, I don't mind more of the same in Animal Crossing. I might get it since I lost my DS version. (ANd I think I traded my GC one before that.)

Animal Crossing tends to get very routine after you play it for a long time, pretty much a big flaw in the series, especially when I play.
