"Don't. It's the shortest swearword ever.
Don't spend all your time dreaming. The time spent dreaming is as long as the one spent doing.
Don't believe in fairies: they lie a lot.
Don't count on the egg in the chicken's ass. Count on the chicken.
Don't leave for tomorrow what you can do never.
Don't look insane. Be insane.
Don't give advice to other people. Give all your advice to yourself.
Don't lose your friends. You'll see that a friend, of the good kind, is the hardest thing to find again.
Don't think you're better than the other. There's a lot of people out there who are just as good as you. Maybe some even better, sorry...
Don't take those who take themselves too seriously seriously.
Don't think you're more intelligent, know more stuff or are better than the other. Remember that the other may think that too. And, to the other, you're the other.
Don't lie. Invent stories.
Don't start the fight.
Don't run from the fight. Who told you to enter it, anyway?
Don't ruin what's not yours. Neither what's yours!
Don't cry in vain. A good tear is worth more than a pearl. Something, now: whenever you truly feel like it, let the water flow.
Don't be sad if things didn't turn out the way you wanted them to. There's always time to try again. Your entire life...
Don't say no to everything. Sometimes you can say yes. Other times "I'll think about it."
Don't say yes to everything. Sometimes – a lot of times – it's better to say no.
Don't worry about the future. Leave that to the older people – they've got less future than you.
Don't follow these advices. Advices aren't meant to be followed. They're meant to be thought about."

As humbling as it may be trying, it's near impossible to change how people think (in the terms stated in your post). People are self-centered and want things for themselves, but on the contrary, they don't truly like themselves, so they try to fit the norm and do what others do. Quite the paradoxical situation. I just say do you. We're going to have our faults, but also our strengths. Just embrace them both and accept it. Thats is more clear cut and enjoyable than these absolutes that you've been posting.

I've been posting these because of that.

Judging from your post, you've reflected at least a little bit on what was written – and that's what these posts are about. Period.
I don't expect you to follow any absolute.

On a related note, I've also been posting these because I like them. Not as in I follow them, but I like them. Good-humoured, well-intentioned and, in the end, even if they're unrealistic, they make sense. That's a plus in my book.
