What kind of anime/manga are you currently watching/reading? What have you previously viewed? What are you going to try out in the future?

Personally, I don't read manga. Don't know anyone that does. Maybe I'll try something down the road. I've been focusing on my anime lately.

My favorite time-waster lately has been Dragonball Z. I really don't like what Funimation did with the re-dubbing of the original 67 episodes, so I purchased the complete two seasons of the Pioneer sets. These contain the 'another dimension' edits, censored violence, etc. This is personally how I prefer to watch Dragonball Z, exactly how I saw it on TV so many years ago. The changes they made to 'remaster' the series was too much for me. I'm currently on season 3, where
Vegeta dies and Goku shows up to fight Frieza.
And sure, the show is old and very stretched out, but I still love it.

One series I completed this year was Ranma 1/2. Over the course of roughly a year, I bought and watched all 7 seasons, 2 movies, and 12 OVA's of Ranma, and also bought two soundtracks just a couple days ago. It was worth it though.

Some other series I've started and haven't finished was Gundam Wing. This one I didn't remember so much from Toonami, so watching it all again is refreshing. Although I have to buy a second collection to see everything. My friend also got me started on Trigun and Cowboy Bebop, but I have little interest in finishing either.

Some anime I want to watch in the future includes series I watched a long time ago like G Gundam, SD Gundam, and Sailor Moon. I'm also looking into buying new series, such as Magic Knight Rayearth, Kodacha, and a couple others whose names I can't pronounce.

So, what about you?

Used to watch a lot of anime when I was smaller.
In order of life:
Saint Seiya, Shurato, Yu Yu Hakusho, Samurai Warriors, DragonBall Z, Gundam Wing
After that I stuck to reading manga.
Saint Seiya, DragonBall (Z), Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter x Hunter, Level E (these last 3 are the very best of the best), Gundam Wing, Battle Royale.

No manga/anime for me in the past years, thank goodness.

Hmm.

To be literal, I watch everything that airs in Japan as it airs every season - and then continue watching the ones that interest me. My backup folder from just October '07 to now is 512GB - and I have other folders for shows pre-dating October '07.

Right now, I'm watching weekly:

Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka
Casshern Sins
Chaos;Head
Clannad: After Story
EF: A Tale of Melodies
Hyakko
Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae
Junjou Romantica 2nd
Kuroshitsuji
Kurozuka
Mouryou no Hako
Nodame Cantabile: Paris Chapter
Shikabane Hime: Aka
Skip Beat
Toaru Majutsu no Index
Toradora
Vampire Knight: Guilty

Anime I'm following that doesn't follow weekly schedules:

Bounen no Xam'd
Candy Boy
Eve no Jikan
Kara no Kyoukai

So, yeah, I watch a lot. Don't really do manga much though.

I was thinking about watching Vampire Knight: Guilty actually, any oppinions on it?

I finished watching Pumpkin Scissors and Tsubasa Chronicles, but outside of that, I've been out of the anime loop. I really need to pick back up.

I'm not much of a manga person, but I do have one for Disgaea that I so luckly ran into.

Well, I wasn't much of an anime fan, but I started watching bleach a long time ago.
I ended up jumping to the manga (curious to know what would happen next) and I pretty much sticking to manga now. The ones I'm reading are:

Bleach
Claymore (watched all the anime first, kept going through the manga)
Fullmetal alchemist (Started the manga believing it wa the same as the anime. Turns out that not only they are branch out at a poin, but the manga's story is still going on)
Deadman Wonderland (2 months without a new chapte.. ARGH!)
One Piece: (I like where the story is going)
Naruto: (I kinda lost some interest in it, but I just keep checking it)
Slayers: Knight of the Aqua Lord: I watched the anime too. Not sure if this one is in anime tho
While I have seen some episodes of Ranma, I'd really like to see them all. :\

Well, it's not bad, but also not something I'd really recommend to people as an OMG THIS IS GOOD! show. It's pretty much a reverse harem that lacks the fanservice usually accompanying harems of any kind - which leaves the show open to a much better storyline than you'd expect.

Some of the characters are fairly well developed, and others are exceedingly bland. Hard to avoid, though, since it's a lot like Negima in the sense that there are a lot of characters involved.

I'd call it a show to watch when you're bored on a Saturday afternoon or something.

Also, I don't know if you have or not, but watch the first season. Guilty is second.

I've seen/read so much that I'll pass that one.:)

Currently, I'm working on getting Rumic Theater(by the creator of Inuyasha/Ranma 1/2). I love her works.

I read Vampire Knight Vol.1 a while back. My little sister bought it.

I have also read Chibi Vampire Vol.2 recently since my sis bought that too. I've read the first one already- it's very cute.

I read Kashimashi Vol.4 recently, a gender swapping mess that's fun to read.:D

And I plan to finish Azumanga Daioh over break. I've never seen all the episodes.

... I definitely suggest that you see Rayearth, Gitaroo. To this day it is still the greatest anime out there, at least to me.

.... Aside from, of course, Air. Now, those two sissies Lantis and Kajak actually cried at the end of that one, I think, but still, if you are a fan of anime that doesn't suck (which, let's face it, a lot of anime does), then see Air, ... now. NOW, I tell you! ^_^

The only stuff I ever watched was from Toonami. DBZ, Gundom Wing, etc... The only stuff I've watched recently is Rurouni kenshin on Youtube.

I'm currently reading

One Piece
Gantz
Golden Boy

I know I should read more, but it takes a while for me to really get into these other ones.

Just kidding.

Best anime? Gundam Wing. Come on, Heero approaching Relena, ripping the invitation to her party apart and saying close to her ear "I'm gonna kill you" is totally priceless.

Best manga? You know that one. Yu Yu Hakusho.

I found the first volume of Kodacha, and relly liked it. If I find the season box sets, I'm going to buy them. It's kinda weird and touching at the same time.

I bought the FullMetal Alchemist manga volume 1 and 2 for my friend as a christmas gift. I'm not sure if he'll dig it or not. But that's kinda the point, it's a riskier purchase. If he likes it, I'll suggest he try the rest. If he really likes it, I'll try reading manga too.

What I've been after though is Sailor Moon. If you haven't been keeping up on it, it's a discontinued product, so any legit DVD's go for a lot of money. I found the first volume of S at a decent price and snatched it right away. It's just as corny and memorable as I remember it. I love watching old TV shows I used to watch that I forgot. Such a nostalgic rush!

After I finish Dragonball Z season three and Gundam wing collection 1, I'm going to watch Witch Hunter Robin. My friend loved it (which kinda surprised me...it's a slow paced show and he prefers fast plots and action). I got the complete collection at a killer price ($20).

Good to hear. Fortunate thing is that the box sets are numerous where I live and quite cheap. Although when I went there last, I saw Magic Knight Rayearth 2. Is that any good? I'll check for Air next time I'm there.

No, I'm 18! :XD I've commented on a youtube video like maybe once. I like Gundam Wing way better then the other ones. I tried, but just couldn't get into them as much.

You kidding me? I saw all of Azumanga Daioh 6 YEARS AGO. It was a good watch overall, and the last three episodes were my favorite. I also recommend you guys seeing Android Kikaider. It's by the same guy who did Astro Boy.

Yes, Rayearth 2 is just as good as the original series. I would like to tell you in what ways it is, but I suppose that would be spoiling too much. My only real quirk at all with Rayearth in general is that every now and then you'll see one of those typical anime retard moments like in Sailor Moon or Dragonball (and so many others .....), but it isn't near as bad about that sort of thing as most anime is. Also, for some reason, whatever happens to one of the three Knights, always seems to have to happen to the other two, ... in immediate succession. You'll see what I mean.

Still, Rayearth is awesome, like Neverending Story kind of awesome. See it NOW.

@bonanza - hey ive only seen like 1 episode of azumanga diaoh =P w00t.

i'll get to it all one day. like a day that my computer can play avi without skipping, or i have a dvd player that can display subtitles correctly, or i have the hard drive space or money to download or buy series i want to watch.

@gnash - GUNDAM WING =D <3 that was how i got into anime at all really, cus i never liked sailor moon or pokemon or dragonball z >_<

i've got some mangas like FLCL of course love that one. ^^
a couple of Bizenghast, one Excel Saga, couple Beck, couple Soul to Seoul, bunch of other random ones that are local and or i got them at sakura con that i guess arn't really manga so much as ... comics/graphic novels

anime is like.. i really like Witch Hunter Robin actually ... though don't start watching it with shuffle on, that is just confusing! watched Tsubasa Resovoir Chronicle for a while before it got lisenced ..but that is WAY slow paced. better to read the mangas.
Berserk <3<3<3 ive lent that one to a friend right now actually BLOOD AND GUTS XD
Ghost in the Shell. ^_^
Yakitate Japan!! it's really long but it's not slow paced and it is interesting all the way though it's really great. and also it follows the manga practically word for word! which is something that doesn't happen so often.
Elfen Lied which is quite pretty.. and bloody ^^ as i think Vanz said it's like Chobits but really bloody..
Haibane Renmei .. so sad ;_; recommended off Lone that one..
Serial Experiments: Lain - computer room o.o
Hellsing - seen anime's and ova... not read manga yet. should. one day. ^^
i have started reading sometimes Ranma 1/2 in the library but i don't think ive even got on to the second volume yet lol. i just read when i'm doing nothing in town... but it is quite funny. and everyone says it's very good.
Full Metal Alchemist - i saw a whole bunch of this like ... when i was 17.. then didn't see the end for AGES! and just this last year (21 now) i have seen the rest of it. and cried.
Evangelion - saw all that in one sitting. whoosh. love mechas i gotta admit.

ah who knows. ^^ thats all so far. i really need to get one of those TB network drives. but atm of course i'm saving up to go to sakura con which leaves me very poor most of the time. plus buying christmas gifts right now eek! bit i'm acutally signed up for this anime club that ive forgotten to go to twice now... but one day i'll have the time off AND remeber to go. i suck =( lol
