Comes out tomorrow.

My gamestop will be open at midnight for Fable2. I asked if they will have this available too and they said they won't have it in store till tomorrow morning.

Yet they got Fable2 last night. Oh well, whats 10 more hours anyway in the scheme of things?

And here I am still in the middle of SO3. My GF also got Blue Dragon for me this weekend. I want SO:FD and Fable 2 as well... too many games to deal with at one time.

This is on my list of "once I'm out of school".

I'll have a ton more time after that.

Dammit! I want to buy it, but I promised I wasn't going to spend anymore money on games until after Christmas.

Its in my hands and it is just perfect.
It looks and feels like SO2 but with a new story and characters.

Seriously any fan of SO2 has to get this game. Its law.

Actually, think of the difference between Final Fantasy IV and IV for DS... and that's the kind of improvement FD has. I'm absoluetely amazed at how much they re made this game.

I don't have a DS, so I wouldn't know the difference.

Well this was a SNES game. So keep that in mind.

Now you played SO2 right? That's the difference. This game is EXACTLY like SO2. Same menu, graphics, battles and more as SO2.

The game is wonderful by the way. I have been playing more of Fable 2 right now because it will take less time to finish that than SO:FD.

That said... I love this game. It went above and beyond what they could have done to the original. I was a big fan of the SNES version. And to see Square Enix put THIS much effort into re-making it gives me a new sense of hope that 4 will be that much more awesome.

But I do have to say one thing, the AI has no quarter about dumping every last ounce of MP into speical attacks unless you tell them not to use it. I swear. Ilia will damn near use her special moves as her form of TRANSPORTATION if you let her.

In a fight, all you'll hear is "Explosive Kick! Explosive Kick! Exolosive- Explosive- Explosive Kick!" And I'm like, damn b*tch... chill out. I've played around with other tactics, but it seems to be either all or nothing. There's no real way to get them to use moves sparingly.

But so far, that's the only negitive thing I can possibly say about the game.

I've already beaten the first optional dungeon. The Mt. Metrox Abandoned Mines... It was hard as hell too. I went in there around level 40 with Roddick (Ratix - can't say I like the localized names) and about 35 on the other three members. And you will get owned in a single random fight.

I remember beating the boss (which was rather easy, looking back on it), but not knowing if I'd survive the trip back out. Man, the feeling of seeing the exit was awesome.

I love this game.

ive started playing it too. i play some of the new castlevania until i get to a part where i get wasted or my fingers cramp from the controls then i move onto star ocean.

i also am really enjoying the game so far. im about lv 15ish and i just crossed the ocean. i tried the optional mine and was wasted instantly, good to know i should return much later.

as with lantis, i too also dislike the bilantent waste of magic. if i dont finish a battle quickly the members will blow every ounce of magic they have on even the simplest monster.

i like the soft feel of the game, the richly detailed environment, and the feeling of playing something different then the average rpg. its also been a long time since i played a SCF type game, so nice to get a feel for it again.

sadly my rpg maker game has taken the backseat yet again, though ill be damned if i dont find time to get at least the demo out this month.

I finally started to play this despite not getting 1000/1000 on Fable 2.

Dear god this rocks!!
I spent 6 hours playing last night playing this and the entire time I was sitting in the living room with my oversized headphones just ignoring the real world, smiling like a little girl that just got a pony.

This game is very nostalgic and very new at the same time. I can't say enough how much any fan of SO2 will get lost in the pure happiness that comes from this game.

Fully voiced scenes, anime cutscenes, beautiful 2.5D graphics.

Don't forget folks, Star Ocean: Second Evolution comes out January 9, 2009.
And yes there will be new characters.

It was odd. I went to get the game and when I returned home it tranformed into Fallout 3. Sigh... maybe next month.

Well, I've sunk a good many hours in just a few days. I'm pushing 20 hours. I selected all 8 characters, though I'm only going to really train with 4. Can't spread out the EXP ammong 8 people if I want to take out Gabriel Celeste and her 108500 HP.

Recommended levels are around 130... I'm at 70. This may take a while. I may wait and just finish the game and come back to her on my second run with the other characters I didn't pick up the first go-round.

Sarah's Knight... I'm looking at you, man. You owe it to yourself to play this game.

20 hours? Are you f*cking kidding me?

It better be longer than that.

Well yeah, I could finish it soon enough... but there's much more to do than that. There's a cave of trials, optional bosses, ect. Besides, you can basically double whatever time it takes to beat it because I'll be doing it again eventually... hey, at least it's not fable.
