Sounds interesting, but I'll probably just wait until the next NEW Nintendo handheld, which will probably hold most of these features (such as downloadable content) anyway.

Well, my original DS was misteriously lost just before the release of the DS Light(Lite?)
I might get it since my DS lite was stolen a long time ago. I'll look forward on how will I lose it eventually =D

Oh, and in mention of that... They are making a new HD wii. Yet ANOTHER aspect of the console that should have been released with it way back when.

It would be interesting to hear the reasons why Nintendo says this is necessary and if they don't consider it necessary why they chose to do it.

they do it because they are professional money whores. Worse than Microsoft it seems. I am planning on getting a Wii soon but I find it harder and harder to justify.

But they aren't going to say that. I want to hear them try to explain it so that if they don't have a good reason then we can ridicule their answer, like when they tried to tell us during the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube generation that the average gamer doesn't want online gaming but rather (gameboy to gamecube) connectivity!

Not hard at all. In fact Microsoft allows for transfer of points between 360 and Zune.

More accurately, the points belong to a single account and where ever you take the account you can use the points.

What now Nintendo?!
