Why do glasses = ugly?

I seen various films and comics where "the ugly chick" is wearing glasses and eventually takes them off to reveal that she's actually a hot chick.

Who's world is it where women with glasses aren't sexy? I'm not talking about magnifying glass-type glasses, but just regular lenses.

I mean, come on.

Also, glasses conceal the face. So it isn't necessarily that she is ugly with glasses, but rather that she is naturally beautiful but the glasses obstruct seeing that beauty.

... You think so, Ix? From my experience, in as many cases I have also seen just the opposite hold true, whereupon glasses would make a particular girl's face appear cuter.

I like it when some girls wear glasses. It makes them look sexier, I think. Some girls look better without glasses, but I think it's because some pick some of the ugliest glasses around.

Heh, my significant other wears contacts. I've been trying to talk her into lenses for a while now. Funny thing is, she hates contacts and the what it takes to just put them in/out ect...

But then again, I happen to like nerds/bookworms too.
