Firstly, after almost 3 months with fighting that damn company about the warranty work to fix my TV... I've finally got it back (it's power supply broke in June). With that, I've gotten to update my PS3 and take in all the new features. Firmware update 2.40 actually came with a large chunk of new features, and I'd go and talk about them all... but this guy does it much better than I would:

So I get to play around with those for a good bit. I've also got a crap load of demos and Rock Band songs to catch up on. Though I'd like to talk a minute about the Achievements... er, I mean Trophies. Obviously they are completely taking the idea from Xbox. But it works. I think the Wii should also use a form of points like this as well.

What would be even more awesome than that is if there was an online account you could make that could track all 3 current gen consoles achievments/trophies in one tag... but I'm not going to hold my breath. While I recognize that it really is just a copy and paste of Microsoft's original idea, I'm still glad it's there... as would any PS3 owner, reguarldess of fanboyism from either console.

But now to a bit more depressing conversation. In another thread we talked about something that really kind of hurts future PS3's. I've done a bit of digging around about this and I think Valk best said it:



It might make sense in some way, but honestly... why take that away? You aren't suppose to take things away from your customers. But Valk is right about still being able to get your hands on a PS3 that DOES still play PS2 games. The internet is a wonderful place, you know?

I have 60 trophies. MUHAHAHA

Actually, how many game's suppport them yet? The only one I have that I know has trophies is Super Stardust. And I don't think I'm going to be getting Pixeljunk's Eden.

That's pretty much it.

Yeah, I don't trust buying used consoles, especially off the internet, and since I have no motivation to get the system now, I expect that Sony will never be getting my PS3 money for the console or their share of the games.

I can't say I blame you, really. Besides, Xbox and PS pretty much share most titles anyway. The games that WERE going to be exclusive (and a heavy reason I was getting a PS3) are all going to the 360 as well. Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, and Resident Evil were all PS exclusives but all are going to be on 360 now.

I still don't regret it, because it's a solid console and I still will get the games I bought the console for. But the truely exclusive games for PS3 haven't really caught much of the public's eye. It's kind of a shame...
