Super Mario Bros. 3 (all-star version)


It didn't take long to get Sarah's Knight liking the idea of LPs. So he wanted to do a collab on one. And what better than an old classic. We are hitting up 2-player on SMB3 (SK is hitting up Mario, and I as Luigi). This will be a race between us two as we play through all 8 worlds... and we'd like to welcome you to take a gander.



Because of how often (or how not often, actually) we hang out, we are going to be playing through two world each video. So we are looking at a 4 part LP here. Nothing grand, but should be somewhat enjoyable. We've agreed to not use whistles as well as not skip levels even if able. Wins are based on how many levels are completed and also who took out the Kupa Kid at the end of the world



Quick note: The first video's audio turned out too quiet, so you'll probably need to crank up the volume a bit. Will be sure to fix that for the videos to come.



And so concludes our LP. Thanks for putting up with the bad times and I hope you enjoyed us as we re-hashed this NES classic. Also, SK and I wish to do another LP in the future, if you have any games you'd specifically like to watch, please post. Until then...

Damnit all to hell... Google Video has been down since October 17th. There's a forum discussion at the google discussion boards about it and google hasn't even said a word to the users. So I'm moving them to Megaupload's video site.

Awesome playthrough. But how do you record yourself along with your voice as you're playing?

Man... I need to record myself playing this sh*t to make you realize how much I would pwn all over this.

@ Ix - I'm using a screen recorder called HyperCam. I've had the program for a while but it always recorded very horrible quality. I spend some time fiddling with it till I got it recording at a very decent quality that wasn't multiple gigs in size.

For audio I use the PS3's Rock Band mic. The screen recorder can be set to record audio as well as video... and that's pretty much it.

And with that said:

@ Genji - Because this is all done on computer, I'm most likely only going to be able to do PS1 and down. Though I'll probably want to start hitting up next gen LPs eventually.

I promise though that next vid will have better gameplay. Like an idiot, I realized after we recorded that in two player... we never play at the same time... so I mapped all the buttons for player two on the controller as well... so now we'll just pass the controller back and forth.

Why does your all-stars have Super Mario World on it?

You might be seeing the lost levels.

No, they made two versions. One with Super Mario World and one without. I just never seen the one with till a few years back.

Hmm, I never heard of the version with world until today. I just have the version without it.

Next video is up and running. One specific note: I apparently didn't know that SNES wasn't capable of 64 bit graphics. (I do... but I said 64 instead of 16... murr)

5 and 6 are up. Because of how long it was, we'll be doing world 7 and 8 separately.

Look, this time I mean it; we are going to do better from here on out. After consecutive sleepless nights of intense research, I discovered that all of the FAIL was due to the absence of pizza and Dr. Pepper (in combination). Without either or both present in SK's belly, he simply is not up to the challenge of fighting Evil.

I am a bit loud, but overbearing? Come now, I just like to show more outward emotions of how much I enjoy video games.

Anyway, video for would 7 is up and ready to go. Only one more video left.
