THROW THAT AT THE WALL

Actually, the cafeteria here makes something with Tofu, Egg Plant, and spaghetti sauce. It's... decent? Kind of?

Here are some pictures that I took recently from Alabama. I didn't get everything I wanted, but rain kinda f*cked that up. The girl in the pictures is my cousin.

I'm in Alabama for my college transfer orientation and me and my dad have been visiting relatives. I wanted to take more pictures, but it's all gravy. I'll be back soon anyway.

I was going to make a cousin comment, but I decided against it.
Who knows when people might flip out over cousin comments. :giggle

I don't really care what you say as long as it's not some sh*t like, "O, I do her up butt, lolz!"

That is Jasper. A lot of places haven't changed since my dad was around my age, which was about 30 years ago. It's not near my university. I'll take pictures of the campus and whatnot later.

I like picture 9 with the street corner because it shows that even small towns have moments of urbanity.

Can you please explain why a couple of street lamps and some tiny battered old houses qualify as 'moments of urbanity'?

It's hard to explain but easy to understand. If you are in a small town and feel almost uneasy how small, and deep into the country it is you might feel a million miles away from home. But you see a street corner like the one in picture 9 and it reminds you of home even just a little. In other words I bet you if anyone who lives there feels like a city person at heart and needs to get away but can't, they probably spend more time walking up that street then on the country roads.

It is not the city but for a moment it seems city-esque. You could even picture tall buildings in the background of that picture.

EDIT: Pics 7, 8, and 11 seem much more rural, whereas picture 13 is also slightly urban.

Hm. I find it hard to believe any of those pictures are very urban. Some are more than others, okay, but I still don't see it. All of that is very rural to me, mostly because of the empty background and lack of people. I dunno. Maybe I live in a place that's more urban than you?

I collect the English translations. The Manga to the left is Buso Renkin,
created by the Samurai X manga-ka. I don't recommend it.

I LOVE Shonen Jump and have about 30 issues in total.

Not only that, I'm also a huge gaming magazine collector. I have 2
subscriptions for EGM and a subscription to Game Informer.

I'll post more soon. These pictures are pretty old.

Well I do have some experience with big cities:

http://www.rpgmmag.com/forums/viewtopic ... ies&t=5486

and one thing that helps is that during college I spent a lot of time traveling down country roads passing from one midwestern small town to another.

I think that is why, at least from my point of view, I can see a small town for what it is worth, but recognize moments of essential urbanity because it reminds me at least a little of home.
