Nintendo's upcoming Wii MotionPlus accessory for the revolutionary Wii Remote controller again redefines game control, by more quickly and accurately reflecting motions in a 3-D space. The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player’s arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion. Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play. The Wii MotionPlus accessory reconfirms Nintendo’s commitment to making games intuitive and accessible for everyone. Nintendo will reveal more details about the Wii MotionPlus accessory and other topics Tuesday morning at its E3 media briefing.

Oh sh*t. It's about to be on, players!

You mean this wasn't possible with current remotes?

Imagine that... another add-on. Didn't see THAT coming.

This seems like something that should have been made before the console launched. But hey, if you can launch early AND make a quick buck later, why the hell not?

Well, it worked with the Rumble Pak. (Not that they're acknowledging that. Stupid lack of rumble support in N64 VC games.)

Oh... I know it works. It has worked... and it will work in the the future. I just think it's a b*tch move and shows lack of business ethices to a slight degree.

Perhaps one of the most boring announcements thus far. I hope Nintendo can step up their game.

I like the Wii, but crap like Wii Fit and this malarky don't make me none too happy.

HOWEVER, watching G4 coverage, watching Miyamoto with that Saxophone was just TOO adorable. WiiMusic DOES look interesting.

To be fair, this 1:1 thing could be an honest attempt to improve motion sensitivity in games. The Wiimote was fairly untested technology. Maybe it wasn't quite developed enough when the Wii came out. I mean, I've heard plenty of instances of people saying how sometimes the motion controls are a little off: especially in games like Red Steel. I wonder if this thing'll improve on all games, or only for games programmed to use it. I hope it won't require its own batteries.

LMAO. Wow, I didn't even think of that. Though, I doubt you will. I mean, the nunchuck is powered by the same port that this 1:1 attachment does, so there's no reason why it shouldn't.

Still, out of the three leading companies of gaming today... nintendo has the lead in peripheral and hardware add-ons. Not sure why it bugs me as much as it does... I guess it's because I just feel like I'm being milked.

What's worse is that they've had more practice with peripheral add-ons than anybody else, so it actually works.
