If you were around sometime a year ago or so, you might have remembered mention of a book that was to be developed that contained all the issues of RPG Maker Magazine to date (up to 4.1 at the time). Since then, the idea pretty much faded away and hasn't been heard of.

Well, that's about to change. The Megazine is actually nearing completion. All 10 issues have been re-created and re-made. It's just a matter of putting them in the propper format and sending them to our friends at lulu to be mass produced.

But there is one problem. We need much more content. We want this to be as great as is possibly can. Here's what will be in it so far:

Re-made issues (1.1 - 4.1)

Special commentary before each issue

Ad space (full page or 680 by 200)

Currently there will be upwards to around 240 pages not including what ads people will want. The pricing for ad space will be mentioned later and all ad money goes towards lowering the over-all price of the Megazine.

So this is a call out. Seeing as this Megazine is going to be for you guys, what exactly would you like in it? I would like everyone's suggestions, big or small. What would make this project worth owning to you?

Interviews. Not just a couple, but with lots of different people big and small here at the mag. Inserted into random pages and at least a page long for each person.

yea, a meet the designer style interviews would be nice. a sneak peak at the next issue wouldnt go amiss, nor would a few game reviews or mention of some of the most popular games.

edit: since the mag has covered 3 generations of rpg maker it might be a nice idea to cover the changes from maker to maker in something like "rpg maker console editions - a salute to where weve been" you could even showcase games that broke the mold and went in directions the producers probaly never dreamed possible.

I like the ideas guys... thanks for the feed back.

Keep the ideas coming. Though, it's still going to be a while before this project will actually finished, I'd like to get get as much in as possible to polish it up and hopefully get it out by the end of the year.

I think it would be cool to have something that showcases the dev. studios. Something that gives credit to some of the more active ones, and maybe an interview with some of the newer ones that talk about future plans, or how they plan to change the way we see their respected maker. I just think it would be cool to have the entire studio, and not just the individual games being recognized.

I have another idea, but it probable won't go over too hot considering this is the mag and not the pav. Who knew? :nope But anyways, the idea is, if it fits into the time frame, possible have an artical about the pavs summer rip off contest. If there is a good turn out for it and it's featured in the mag it might encourage more activity.

Just some thoughts.

Maybe a couple pages dedicated to the most impressive, most promising screenshots of various games, upcoming and/or already out. Let the people know that, hey, there's some good stuff out there (at least judging by screenshots).

I'd like to see, (and volunteer to create. =p) a highly in-depth screen-shot assisted history of the RPG Maker Magazine.
I know we have one in the Wiki, but I think we can do it more justice by adding in interviews with people who were here during the different 'eras,' personal recollections of 'the mag/pav war,' visuals of the old site formats, etc. :D

So far, we have room for everything anyone has mentioned so far. And for now, I plan to do something with each.

And Feros' idea is of much win. If you'd like to, go for it man.

That sounds like a hell of a lot of effort and way too much thinking and I think my grandma is going to be admitted to the hospital soon so I'm going to pre-emptively go there and wait for her admittance and use it as an excuse to take a leave of absence.

Fixed.

I think a history of the Mag would be great, and I'm definitely looking forward to this.:)

As a progress report, right now Ix is going over all the work I've done for like... the past half year. So it'll take a bit of time before he okay's it all and we move on to extra content.

I'm really liking what everyone suggesting... please, keep it coming.

Overall, the package looks good. There are some minor errors that need to be fixed, but for the most part, it's good to go. And we can start planning extra features.

One thing I must point, however, is how these issues will look like the issues when they first appeared, sans cleanup. There won't be any 3.3-style present, except for 3.3.

This will give the whole project quite a nostalgic look. Like Megaman 9.
