Slayers' Reign is some hot fire.

I'd been delaying playing the game for a while, but I shouldn't have. Draygone has push a ton of polish into this game. From the offset, there's a wide variety of features and settings. Diverse characters with recognizable, multifaceted personalities, conflicting philosophical sides, well-balanced battles, various puzzles, tons of diversions (try the piano!) and well-designed locales are abound. Creative minigames break up the well-crafted main story. Cutscenes are many, with high proficiency in the craft. I have to say, SR has some of the best-looking and cinematic-feeling cutscenes that I've ever seen in an RPG Maker game.

And while few, there are a couple problems with the game besides the random grammar error. There's a scrapped version of a system that was in play that made battles take a little time to load. However, Dray's already said that it's been corrected in the full version he's working on. But don't let this small problem dissuade anyone from playing this demo.

From what I can tell, this demo promises a game that will definitely be a game to look for in the future.

At this point in time, based on the demo solely and not expectations, I'd give this game a solid 9.0.

I'll certainly write up something when I get on a real computer, and not my Wii.

I just finished playing the demo of Slayers' Reign. I think it looks very good. The cutscenes definitely give it an epic feel. I would have to play through the whole thing to see how well it holds my interest though. I really like the custom save menu.

You did a really nice job at balancing your battles too. That's not always an easy thing to do.

i enjoyed it too though i really disliked the battle load times at the end. i would rather have skipped the innovative scene change rather then put up with the load times for a successful battle. overall its a good demo and hopefully a full game will show itself.

One can hope. Though it's looking like none of the games proclaimed to be out in 08... will be. One day, maybe. I still hold high anticipations...
